Happileigh Scrappin' Challenge #10




The Happileigh Scrappin' Challenge DT have been given a gorgeous photo as inspiration to go with a fabulous birthday themed set. Don't the cupcakes look gorgeous and the cute little ballerinas. Reminds me of a musical jewellery box I had as a child. The digital set is a new release and can be purchased from Leigh's store at Happileigh Scrappin'

I plumped for the large cupcake and printed out 5 layers so I could decoupage each progressive layer of the design. I have used Promarkers to colour the image adding various shades of pink layers to emulate the colours in the picture. I have added Stickles glitter glue to the edges of each layer and added 'sprinkles' to the top by filling it in with Glossy Accents and sprinkling with seed beads in assorted colours.

I printed out the sentiment banner, coloured to match and added the glitter around the edges.

The base card is a sheet of A4 card folded in half. The pink swirly paper is from the Papermania Sweet Nothings collection. The cupcake was stuck to the based with 3d foam and the banner has been raised up by gently curling and only attaching to the card at the ends of the banner.

    Cor Mandy photos like that are bad for my resolve. Being diabetic I have had to foreswear yummy cupcakes but this pic had me drooling.

    Love your interpretation of the pic, and those hundreds and thousands on the top have me licking my lips all over again.
