OSAAT #61 - Fancy Folds

Over at OSAAT we have a new challenge for you today hosted by Marjo. You are to make a fancy folded card and this can include an easel card (good job too as that is what I made LOL)

For this Challenge The Stamping Boutique are offering the lucky winner
5 Digis of their choice from the Boutique's store!!

If you don't already subscribe to the Stitchy Bear Newsletter I would suggest that you sign up as there are some fabulous images given away as freebies and you will always be kept up to date with the latest image news.

In the spotlight this week is the one and only Stitchy who has so many fabulous images in the store.

Father's Day / Sports Collaboration

While you are there don't forget that for the Month of May we have a store collab with the theme of Father's Day & Sports which is free with a $10 purchase.

For my card I had the great pleasure to use 2 of Stitchy's designs. I have used Mushroom Delight which is a lovely image in itself but I really wanted to experiment with the fairies in the Rainbow Magic Silhouette Pack as I wanted to try and get a fairy sitting on the larger mushroom. I have never combined images on top of one another like this but it was so easy once I got started. I use a fabulous graphics program called Xara and laid the mushroom image down first as a JPEG. The fairies are in the PNG format so you had complete visibility of the background and could place them where you wanted with great precision. Once I had the 1st Fairy down I couldn't stop and added another baby one and then one flittering about in the air as fairies do.

For the bottom section of the easel I used a freebie sentiment from Marlene but it had some frame corners around it so I removed them in Photoshop to leave just the sentiment. I added another 2 of the fairies to this section to continue with the theme.

The image was coloured in with Promarkers and I added spots to the big mushroom and Sakura glitter to the fairies wings. It looks very subtle in the photos but is a lot more twinkly in real life. I added a lace and ribbon trim, a hatpin I made, some punched leaves, a couple of flower sequins and a tiny spotty brad I have had in my stash for a long time. The base panel on the easel is mounted on 3D foam to provide the lip to stand it up and to this I just added some paper flowers and one of the new patterned Candi dots from Craftwork Cards.

I am really proud of how this card turned out. It is great to have an idea and for it to come out even better than you imagined :)

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges (in Alphabetical order) :-
