My Teamie Choccy
chose this lovely image Snowy
Postbox from Delicious
Doodles to work with and I thought it would make a lovely traditional
Christmas card.
I coloured the image
using Promarkers & Flexmarkers using greys for the paths and sky, a vibrant
red for the postbox and front door and muted shades of other colours so they
went more into the background. The image has been matted onto a scrap of very
dark green card. I added lots and lots of twinkle using Stickles glitter glue
and even used got to use some puffy applique glue for snow. I totally love how
that puffs up with a heat gun J
The main background
paper is from Creative Cardmaking magazine. They have a lovely selection of
Christmas papers by Kanban. I really do like this magazine and the papers in
this issue have been my most used yet. I used a Fiskars punch on the green
layer.
The gold sparkly trim
was from a haberdashery stall in a market. It is faceted in such a way that it
looks like a diamante trim but is actually plastic. It comes 4 rows across and
you can trim the fabric mesh backing to make it as wide or narrow as you wish.
To finish off I added a couple of gems, a die cut poinsettia and sentiment both
from Docrafts.
My Teamie Choccy and
I have been paired together for a long time working with the same image every
fortnight. We have chattered many times on email and Facebook and she is a
really lovely person and a good friend and confidante.
She has recently
started to work at a stationery shop that sells crafty stuff and yesterday she
was doing her very first craft demonstration. I thought it would be the ideal
time to pop along and meet her and give her some moral support. Here is a photo
of us both
We had a cup of tea,
a natter and played with some craft stuff. Time went so quickly but it was
wonderful to meet up at last and we shall definitely be doing it again J
