CDAC PC #18 Ice Cream Cone

It’s Round 18 of the Progressive Challenge at CDAC  and for this final round and it is all about

Summer Sizzle

We have some lovely mages from some fabulous creators. Team A have the pleasure in bringing you some gorgeous samples for the images for this round

My card is using a fab image called Ice Cream Cone from Pattie’s Creations
****************************************
Well in the UK our weather has been so up and down lately it doesn’t feel like we will have a Summer but the images we have for this, the final round of challenges at CDAC will help to bring a bit of Summer to your lives. I’m sure you will have as much fun with them as we the DT have.

I decided to go quite bold and bright with this card. I have this brilliant set of 3 craft drawers by DCWV that I got from QVC some years ago and I knew the Summer one had some ice cream themed items so this was where I started. I printed the design so that I could decoupage the layers and picked the colours of blue and pink from the main patterned paper. The textured cardstock is colour co-ordinated from the same drawer set and the patterned brad is also from there.

I used a Nestabilities die to cut the image and mounted the layers with 3d foam. The final layer has had a coat of Glossy Accents applied and I have added some beads that have been recycled from an old t-shirt.

The layout has been inspired by a sketch from Clean & Simple Stamping, however I am not convinced they will accept my entry as my card is probably not CAS enough for them, mind you it is quite CAS for me…..

The sentiment if a freebie from Wink Wink Ink and is again cut with a nestie die and inked around the edges.

CDAC #16 Camelia

It’s Round 16 of the Progressive Challenge at CDAC  and for this round

Something’s In The Air

We have some lovely mages from some fabulous creators. Team A have the pleasure in bringing you some gorgeous samples for the images for this round.

My card is using a fab image called Camelia from Wax Fruit Company

****************************************

When I first saw the image I wasn’t sure what a Camelia looked like so did a little Google search and soon realised it is one of my favourite flowers but didn’t realise what it was or how many varieties of it there are. I hope the colours I have chosen do this gorgeous design justice.

I have used the sketch from the latest challenge at A Gem of A Challenge and it allowed me to use lots of papers from the Summer Bloom collection by Papermania.  I used the soft green spotty paper to bring out the colour of the background on the image. I coloured with pinks and did lots of shading and blending around the petals.

I used a metallic gold Promarker for the stamens and added spots of Stickles gold glitter glue to the ends do they popped off. I used a Nestabilities die for the centre panel and Martha Stewart lattice and doily punches on the papers.

CDACPC Round 14 – Mr Bunny

It’s Round 14 of the Progressive Challenge at CDAC  and we have some lovely

Baskets or Bunnies

Images from some fabulous creators. Team A have the pleasure in bringing you some gorgeous samples for the images for this round.

My card is using a fab image called Mr Bunny from Spectacular Printable which has just won 1st place in the February Digital Drawing competition over at CDAC

****************************************
I used the current sketch from Forever Friends for the layout of this card. All papers and cardstock stickers are from the Spring Drop pad by Dovecraft. The glittery egg lines are from a patterned paper where I cut out 2 lines and then placed the flower ribbon in between.

I coloured the image with Promarkers & Flexmarkers keeping to mainly greens & browns which I felt would bring a gentrified English country gent feel to this character. I cut the image out with my tiny Fiskars scissors and raised it up with lots of 3d foam pads. To finish off I used some cardstock stickers from the paper pack and a sentiment from a Let’s Make Cards pack.

CDAC Progressive Challenge Round 12

It’s Round 12 of the Progressive Challenge at CDAC  and we have some lovely

Green, Great & Gorgeous

Images from some fabulous creators. Team A have the pleasure in bringing you some gorgeous samples for the images for the final round of this group.

My card is using a fab image called Hanging In There from Happileigh Scrappin’

****************************************

It was a total pleasure to work with this image. I was on the DT for Happileigh Scrappin’ Challenges and had the opportunity to work with many of Leigh’s fab images but hadn’t previously done so with this one.

I started with colouring the image in Promarkers & Flexmarkers and created decoupage layers fro the tummt and head and a separate layer for the head and the little birdie. I also added googly eyes and layered with 3d foam. I added some stickles to the birdie and used a Nestabilities die to cut the whole image out.

The paper used for the background is from a pad of papers that came free with a magazine and I added it to a scalloped edge card blank. The sentiment has been matted with a scrap of olive card and raised up with foam pads.

If you have taken part in the last challenge you will be receiving your images to work with for this part. If however you didn't enter all is not lost. For the paltry sum of only $1 you can buy back into the challenge and you will receive the images.

CDAC PC10 Beary Sweet Winter

It’s Round 10 of the Progressive Challenge at CDAC  and we have some lovely

Bringing In The New Year

themed images for this round. Team A have the pleasure in bringing you some gorgeous samples for the images for this round.

My card is using a cute image called Beary Sweet Winter from Digi’s by Phooka.

I have combined 3 digital images together to make this card. I used a previous freebie Fireworks design by Anne Fenton for the background, placed the cute bear in front and used a sentiment stamp from Shannon’s Sentiments adding the 2012 with a font in the graphics programme. I love the flexibility you have with digis and that you can combine images to make something unique for your own cards.

The image is coloured with Promarkers and I have used a clear Sakura glitter pen on the stars, adding lots of star shaped and small gems from Papermania in clear and blue.

I have used a sheet of pearlescent card for the base card, adding a piece of metallic card with embossed silver stars. The image is matted onto some more card and raised on 3d foam. The holographic stars have been in my stash for years and I threaded some metal brads from Papermania through, adding them to the top of the card to look like they are part of the fireworks.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy New Year, I hope that 2012 has started off well for you and will bring you much happiness and good health.

CDAC PC2 Round 8

It’s Round 8 of the Progressive Challenge at CDAC  and we have some lovely animal themed images for this round. Team A have the pleasure in bringing you some gorgeous samples for the images for this round.

My card is using a cute image called Girl Sitting With Doggie from Jen’s Digis.

I decided to do something different this time round and have made a notebook as a gift for one of my very bestest friends. After a rollercoaster of a year she has been with me through it all and I couldn’t have asked for a better friend to share the ups and downs with J

I coloured the image with Promarkers and Flexmarkers and used a Fiskars template to cut it into a circular shape. The papers and pink scalloped die cut are all from a Craftwork Cards Goodybag and the sentiment is from Happileigh Scrappin’ and I used a Nestbilities die to create the shape.

Christmas Bunny Digis By Phooka

I’ve made another Christmas card from an image I have had coloured in for a while. This cute little Christmas Bunny is from Digis by Phooka. I love Myriams little cuties and this is no exception, they have such adorable faces on them J This image is from Round 5 of the CDAC Progressive Freebie Challenge.

The image is coloured in with Pro/Flexmarkers and I have added some glossy accents to the eyes. I have used a small card from a Craftworks Cards goody bag for the base. The snowflake paper is by Dovecraft. The snowflakes are confetti sequins and I have added a gem to each one with glossy accents. Finally the sentiment is a peel off. Once the image was coloured the card was quite quick to make and with simple embellishments would be quite inexpensive to mass produce

Materials Used in this card are as follows:-
Card Size – 4” square
Paper - Dovecraft
Embellishments – snowflake confetti, gems, glossy accents, peel off sticker
Tools – scissors, 3d foam, Pro/Flexmarkers
