Hogs and Kisses

Anyone who knows me knows I adore pigs. Kris from Imagine That had a little competition on Facebook last year as she had designed this cute piggy Christmas Tree and asked us to suggest some sentiments to go with it. If your’s was chosen then you had a set for free. I came up with “forget the ham, eat turkey” and it was one that was chosen to go into the pack. I was delighted as it is a very cute image and of course it is piggies. I mean just look at the curly tail on the one in the middle, totally cute J

I coloured the image with Promarkers and Flexmarkers. The card blank is a bright pink and the green plaid paper is from a DCWV stack.

I coloured this before Christmas but ran out of time to make a card with it. I am very fortunate that we have a farm with a farm shop only a couple of miles up the road. I have bought all my meat from there over the past year and have a nice relationship with the butchers. I promised the guys I would make them a special Christmas card this year and I am sure they will love it.

SU Sparkly Snowflake

This card was made for my Father in Law using the very largest of the snowflake rubber stamps from the Festive Flurry Stamping Up set. The snowflake was stamped, then dies cut using the matching Framelit die. It is so large that it needed an A5 card base which is covered with one of the papers from The SU Winter Frost pack.

The snowflake has been blinged up with lots of stickles glitter glue and loads of self adhesive gems. It really is tremendously sparkly.

To finish of I used a glittered sentiment that has been recycled from a shop bought card.

Stampin' Up Workshop Traditional

This is the final card I made at the Stampin’ Up workshop.

I stamped the sentiment using a mixture of red and green ink to tie in with the paper. I cut it out using the framelits die and then hand cut a red mount for it as it need the contrast from the paper.

The base card is white with a layer of red mount and then the DP. I sandwiched the ribbon between.

I do like the sentiment and I think it has made a very simple yet graphically strong card. I also have to admit that although the stamps are a lot of money the impression you get from them is very crisp and clear, especially important when you have a large sentiment like this. I guess in that respect I have to bow down to Stampin’ Up…. The good thing about going to the workshops is I get to play with the goodies without having to buy. I get a great bag of goodies to play with and am meeting new people and seeing one of my bestest friends.

It is also dangerous as I see so many things I really want so I am planning to limit myself to tools and accessories to enhance the crafty supplies I already have. This will I hope give me a renewed enthusiasm to get back into my crafty room J
