Making Sandcastles

The digi ensemble above is made up of 4 separate images and I am really pleased with how it came together. I have had it made up and coloured in for a couple of weeks now but not had the opportunity to actually make it up into a card.

I have used a sketch from Bugaboo Wacky Wednesday as the little baby image is a Bugaboo one. I have combined digi's from Sew Many cards, Little Musings and Kikkin Creations. Full details of all images used are below.

All the papers are by DCWV and from the Summer draw set from QVC. Some papers have been distressed with a brown inkpad to highlight the layers better. The sentiment is from Elegant Wordart by Bethany.

I love how I am able to experiment with digital images with very little outlay and I find it is firing my imagination so much. I am constantly grateful for the free images that these fantastic illustrators give us to give me the opportunity to have a play and stretch my creativity.

Materials Used in this card are as follows:-
Card Size - 8" square
Sketch - Bugaboo Wacky Wednesday #9
Images - Baby by Bugaboo, Sandcastle by Sew Many Cards, Beach Huts by Little Musings & Smiley Sun by Kikkin Kreations
Sentiment - Elegant Wordart by Bethany
Paper - DCWV from Summer drawer set by QVC
Tools - Quickutz Cookie Cutter die for sentiment
Techniques - Distressing

2 Peas in a Pod

This little beauty is the card I made for Paul for Valentines's day. It is part of a digistamp set called Romantic Vegetables from Little Musings by SJ. I follow her on Facebook and as soon as I saw these 2 little peas in a pod I KNEW that this was the image. However, due to IT and printer issues I nearly didn't get to print it off in time. My knight in shining armour came to the rescue once more. (love you loads sweetie xxx)

I used a very simple sketch from Order of the Opus Gluei as I wanted the image to be the main focal point. It has been coloured with Promarkers and I paper pieced the peas and the front of the pod to add dimension. There is a tiny heart on the image but I covered it up with a gold brad to tie in the brad and gems on the velvet ribbon (one of my Hobbycraft bargains, 29p for 2m!) I matted the image on a Nestie with a gold gilding pen border.

The paper is from the Woodland folks range by Papermania and the sentiment is a digi from Doodle Pantry which has been cut out using a Quickutx cookie die.
