Christmas Stocking

There is a new Progressive Challenge at Outlawz  and both Sandi and Anne have provided us with some lovely Traditional Christmas images for Round 1, thank you ladies. You have to make only one card to progress onto the next round

****************************************
My 1st card is using the Stocking image by Sandi and I have coloured it in using Pro/Flexmarkers adding some small gems to the centre of the poinsettias and some glitter to the stocking top.
I used a gold card base from a Let’s Make Cards pack. The text paper is from DCVW, the holly paper is Dovecraft and they are both offcuts. I used a Nestabilities die for the mat adding small dots of stickles glue in the corners.

The sentiment is by Squigglefly, cut with another Nestie die and I added some fabric leaves and gems to make holly corners.

Materials Used in this card are as follows:-
Card Size – A6
Image – Stocking by Sandi Huggett
Sentimrnt - Squigglefly
Paper – DCWV & Dovecraft
Embellishments – Stickles Glitter Glue, small gems DCWV, Fabric leaves
Tools – Nestabilitie Dies, Promarkers, Flexmarkers,Fiskars punch, glossy accents

Katie Bug on a Swing

I was very fortunate to have won a challenge recently at Squigglefly and was able to choose a digi from my store as the prize. Now I have to be honest, I hadn't realised quite how many stamps there were in the store and such a proliferation of artists with many different styles. I kept picking a image but then would find another I liked better and on it went until I came to this gorgeous cutie by artist Jackie Mathews and I knew this was the one for me, it just made my heart swell with happiness and that was it, I didn't choose it, it chose me :)

I have had it coloured for a couple of weeks and just needed to make it up into a card. I chose happy bright colours as befitting the image and had created a second layer on the ladybird and the main orange flower. The challenge over at Squigglefly this week is to incorporate some buttons so of course they were the perfect centre to my flowers. I used sketch #79 from Tuesday Trio which was asking for bright happy colours so all the planets were aligning to make this card :)

The papers are from a Citrus Mat Stack by DCWV. The main flower paper is really glittery which I have tried to show in the picture. The flower ribbon is a self adhesive one from DCWV too. The sentiment is a fabulous freebie from Paulette at TLC Creations, matted onto a scrap of black card and white faux stitching applied courtesy of my gel pen.

This is such a happy jolly card and with the fab sentiment is good for a general card which has just gotta bring a smile to someone's face like it did mine. Thanks Squigglefly for such a lovely image as my fab prize :)
