Little Snowman

Another of my Christmas cards from my last minute cramming session. Will someone please remind me that next year I need to be more pro-active and make them more consistently throughout the year…. Maybe I need to be on a Christmas challenge DT too J

I ADORE snowmen and this cute smiley one is from Birdie Brown and is called Little Snowman. He is coloured with Promarkers & Flexmarkers and I added some glossy accents to his coal eyes and mouth. A smattering of Stickles glitter glue has been added to his pom pom and scarf trim. He is matted onto a scrap of blue card from my oddments box and I added some Papermania star gems around the main image.

I am rather proud of this card as it is all from scraps J The paper is the last of a sheet of Imaginisce iridescent paper which has a lovely sheen to it. There is even an offcut of blue card that had been embossed with a Cutlebug folder and I used a silver waxy rub-on to highlight the pattern. To finish I added a sentiment from my stash with 2 more of the little gems.

Well with all the wet weather and flooding we are having in the UK there is absolutely no chance of us building a snowman, however on the other side of the Atlantic I see there are massive snowstorms so I do hope my American pals stay safe!

For my card this week I wanted to make a Christmas card. When I think of red it is either for Christmas or a card for a man, in this case it could well be for both!

I coloured the image Christmas Fairy with Promarkers and Flexmarkers. I created a second layer for the top of the gift box and the hat so I could decoupage them. I then added a further layer of just the bow on the top of the gift box. I use Stickles glitter glue all over the wings and the ribbon and Woodware applique snow for the fur trim on the hat.

The base of the card has been covered with a glitter paper from Imaginisce. I used scraps of gold and black card for the layers and used my Martha Stewart trellis punch for the black layer but only left the bottom of it on show. I added a Papermania glittered self adhesive ribbon and a die cut sentiment from my stash.

For my card this week I have used a gorgeous image from Barbara Jensen called Little Tiggy Tiger. I absolutely adore this image, it is such a cutie. The image has been coloured with Promarkers and I created a second layer so I could decoupage the head. It was rather fiddly to cut the little tufts of hair but it looks great so It was worth it J I added some crystal effects to the eyes, nose and paw pads.

The card was covered with a tiger print paper that I had from an assorted animal print pack years ago. The green paper is by Imaginisce. I had made a card for a work colleague of Pauls for Mothers Day and he was sending it to South Africa where he is from. His Mum came for a visit and brought me some animal papers and chipboards all the way from South Africa. I was really touched that she would do that for me and it was a lovely surprise.

I based my layout on a sketch from Passion for Promarkers. I have added some flowers in the top corner let hand corner with a button and twine embellishment and some die cut swirls from a new die I just had from Joanna Sheen.

The favourites in my card are fave technique which is to decoupage a digi image, obviously fave colouring medium Promarkers, fave bright colours and pretty papers and fave embellishment which is flowers.

Please pop over to OSAAT to see the fab cards from my colleagues on the DT and I hope we will see lots of entries and your favourites.

Daisy's Tableau Tuesday #11

This is my 3rd week as Guest Designer at

Every 2nd week we have Tableu Tuesday and that is a way for the designers to showcase some of the fabulous Digis available from the store.

I chose the image Snow In Love. If ever there was a snowman image to make your heart melt this is the one. If you want to own this loving pair you can pop over to Daisy’s Digi Doodles store and they can be yours for only $2

I have made a large card at 8” square. This will be a special Christmas card for a loving couple. The image has been coloured with Promarkers. I love blue and white for icy snowscenes like this so kept other colours to a minimum.

I used a sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday for the layout using lots of layers for the papers and matting. I used a punch from Martha Stewart and a ribbon layered together with gems and snowflake brads. The back layer of paper is heavily glittered and there are a lot of iridescent papers so I opted not to add any more glitter, although it was hard not to J

I hope you will pop over to the blog to see the lovely creations on there and please remember that you have another week to get your challenge entries in for our ‘Raise it Up’ embossing challenge.

I'll see you again next week with another lovely Daisy Doodles design.

Materials Used in this card are as follows:-
Card Size – 8” Square
Patterned Paper – DCWV & Imaginisce
Embellishments – Paperchase gems, DCWV ribbon, Papermania Brads
Tools - Scissors, Promarkers, Martha Stewart Punch
Techniques – punching,

Happileigh Scrappin' #35

We have a new challenge today over at Happileigh Scrappin' Challenges which is is to make a card using Cool Colours.
We have a colour wheel to show you which see the colours we want to see on your card.

For my Card I have used a new release from last week, Reach for the Stars

When Leigh first showed us this image I wanted to put it together with a Cuttlebug Embossing folder I have. I could see the little girl balancing precariously on a Christmas gift to put the star on the tree. That's what I love about digi's so much.... the designer can make it to portray one particular occasion but with a bit of imagination cardmakers can come up with something completely different to use it for :)

My base card has a Christmas paper on it from DCWV. The tree is embossed onto pale blue card and then I used an inkpad to distress the embossing and cut around the tree. The image has been coloured with Promarkers and the star has been covered with glitter glue. It was a magazine freebie and there was hardly any glitter in it so I sprinkled some extra fine on it instead. The gift has been made using a paper from Imaginisce with some bits and bobs of ribbon. All the elements except the tree are on 3d foam to add dimension.

There are loads of fabulous images in the Happileigh Scrappin' Store and Leigh has also got some gorgeous new designs available. With every purchase you this gorgeous image and sentiment free........

Also for every 3 images you purchase you can choose an extra one absolutely free. There are loads of fab images just itching to be played with so you will find it easy to spend your pennies I promise you :)

Please pop on over to see the lovely creations my Happi Sisters have added. There are lots of lovely cards to feast your eyes upon and they are all so different.

Remember, for our challenges you don't need to use a Happileigh Scrappin' image but if you do you it will be entered into a separate draw. With freebies available here it is easy to use one of Leigh's fabulous digis.

We would love to see lots of entries in this challenge. Leigh gives away her lovely digis to the top 3 so it is well worth entering and myself and the DT love to see your creations, so come on over to
