Daisy Doodles #48 What an Angel

At Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges we have a new challenge today

What an Angel

We have a sketch for you to follow and the theme of anything sweet and girlie or angel like.

*********************************************
For my card I have used Amy With Flowers.  There are 2 images in the pack, one with dummy and one without. You will receive it in 3 formats for only $2.  I have also used Amy Papers, 5 in the pack at only $3 and they include teddy bears, baby feet, baby bottle and this smashing flower and butterfly one. Head over to the Daisy Doodles Store to check them all out !

Our talented teamie Clare has devised a sketch for us to follow and it was great to be able to use some of the papers that go with this angelic image.

I started with the butterfly paper and created a copy of it which I tinted in blue using a colour picker tool in my graphics program I selected the darker blue. It retains the pattern but tinted it so it matches the pink and blue paper.

I coloured the image using Promarkers and Flexmarkers, cutting a second layer for the dummy/pacifier and the 2 butterflies and these are mounted on 3d foam. I have also used some Sakura glitter pends for the flower centres and stems. The sentiment is a chipboard sticker from DCWV

For my card this week I have used a traditional image of Santa from Sylvie Stamps. He completely reminds me of the Santa that my Grandad used to take us to visit at Lewis’ departments store in Leeds when I was a child. I don’t have any photo of me as a child but just before Grandad died he sent me a photo of me sitting on Santa’s knee and it is one of my most treasure possessions.

I coloured the image with Flexmarkers using a very pale grey for the facial hair with a slightly darker shade for the detail. I used an antique white for the pompom and fur on hat and then added some Stickles glitter glue over the top.

The traditional text paper is from an old DCWV stack and the sentiment is a glittered rub on from Dovecraft inside a nestabilities die cut. I added a few gems to finish off and used 3d foam to mount the image and sentiment panel.

CDAC PC2 Round 8

It’s Round 8 of the Progressive Challenge at CDAC  and we have some lovely animal themed images for this round. Team A have the pleasure in bringing you some gorgeous samples for the images for this round.

My card is using a cute image called Girl Sitting With Doggie from Jen’s Digis.

I decided to do something different this time round and have made a notebook as a gift for one of my very bestest friends. After a rollercoaster of a year she has been with me through it all and I couldn’t have asked for a better friend to share the ups and downs with J

I coloured the image with Promarkers and Flexmarkers and used a Fiskars template to cut it into a circular shape. The papers and pink scalloped die cut are all from a Craftwork Cards Goodybag and the sentiment is from Happileigh Scrappin’ and I used a Nestbilities die to create the shape.

If you have taken part in the last challenge you will be receiving your images to work with for this part. If however you didn't enter all is not lost. For the paltry sum of only $1 you can buy back into the challenge and you will receive the images.

Let me introduce you to Twas The Night Before Christmas. This amusing image comes in 3 different formats for only $2 from the Daisy Doodles Store

I have coloured the digi with Promarkers & Flexmarkers  and used some Woodware applique puffy paint for the fur trim on Santa’s outfit (loving that soo much at the moment)

The main paper for the base of the card is from my bargain £1 paper pad from the NEC and the stocking paper is from an old DCWV pad. I kept the card quite simple as I love the humour in the image and it should have centre stage J

For my card this week I wanted to make a Christmas card. When I think of red it is either for Christmas or a card for a man, in this case it could well be for both!

I coloured the image Christmas Fairy with Promarkers and Flexmarkers. I created a second layer for the top of the gift box and the hat so I could decoupage them. I then added a further layer of just the bow on the top of the gift box. I use Stickles glitter glue all over the wings and the ribbon and Woodware applique snow for the fur trim on the hat.

The base of the card has been covered with a glitter paper from Imaginisce. I used scraps of gold and black card for the layers and used my Martha Stewart trellis punch for the black layer but only left the bottom of it on show. I added a Papermania glittered self adhesive ribbon and a die cut sentiment from my stash.

Daisy Doodles Challenge #47

At Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges we have a new challenge today
The Spool That Stole Christmas
We want to see a card without any ribbon

*********************************************
For my card I have used Christmas Praise which is a fab image for cold and frosty Christmas Cards. You can will receive this image in 3 formats for only $2.
Head over to the Daisy Doodles Store to check it out !

I have used the latest sketch from Pals Paper Arts for the layout. The base card is a dark blue irridescent cardstock that has a lovely shimmer to it. I used a snippet of snowflake paper that is actually a wrapping Paper from Paperchase. It is one of my fave ‘go to’ papers for blue Christmas cards J

The image has been coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers. The pale blue is one of the new Flexmarker colours and I love using the flexible brush for large areas as you get this really textured look that you would with a watercolour brush. The snow is the new antique white, love the faint hint of colour that dulls down the bright white the paper was originally. I created extra layers of the church, the star and the tree so I could later the images. I used Woodware puffy applique for the snow on the church room and along the edges of the path, added gold stickles glitter glue to the star in the sky and on the tree and lots of twinkly spots to emulate snowflakes falling.

The sentiment is a wooden plaque that I got from the Hobbycraft sale in January. I got 6 of them for only 49p, bit of a bargain for use on larger cards I thought. I just dressed it up with some stickles glue and called it finished. Quite a simple layout but this them gives the image the emphasis that it deserves.

I created an extra project this week to help out our fabulous Team Leader Choccy and used this gorgeous image Festive Friends by Sylvie Stamps. I adore animals and was drawn to this fun image of a girl playing dress up with her faithful companion.

I coloured the image with Promakers and Flexmarkers. I added some puffy snow but instead of puffing it up I sprinkles iridescent glitter on it. I also used some stickles glitter to add some more depth to the snowdrifts and some gently falling snowflakes in the background.

The card base is covered with a sparkly paper from Craftwork Cards and then I used a snowflake paper from DCWV. The paper is snippet from a 6” square pad and was just a little bit too small for the width so I cut it in 2 pieces as I was planning to put a contrast strip in there anyway. This is just a leftover snippet of striped paper from the same pack, edge with a Martha Stewart punch and some sheer blue and silver ribbon over the top. To finish I added a tag from Dovecraft embellished with some peel offs and Bakers Twine
