Birdie
Brown has
a monthly challenge and is very generous with her freebies. This month we get
to work with DIY
Dad. I thought it would make a great image for a new home card.
I used this
weeks sketch from I {Heart to Sketch} for the layout as I thought the
larger panel on the left would make a great wall that was being papered by DIY
Dad.
I coloured the image with
Promarkers and Flexmarkers in Browns and blues which are my favourite colours
for a male themed card. I found some really really old papers from a Male
orientated magazine pack that were perfect to go with it. I ‘wallpapered’ the
panel leaving one roll curled up going down the wall. I cut the same length of
paper as the first but added a core of scrap cardstock in the centre to
strengthen it and then some of the strong red backed tape to make sure it doesn’t
unfurl. I also added a roll of paper as an embellishment.
The brown cardstock is
textured scraps from DCWV and I used a Nestabilities die to cut the sentiment panel
which is a very old rub on and a punched house.
That’s my card for this
month’s challenge and how on earth did it get to be the end of May already? I honestly
do not know where this year is disappearing to……
