For this challenge I had ben assigned to choose an image from Alipeeps Art. For those that don’t know Ali is one of our DT Members who happens to be very talented at drawing too. I have loved this particular image Butterfly Profile since I first saw it and couldn’t wait to use it.
The sentiment panel is a freebie from Phooka’s blog. I love inspirational  and uplifting quotes but could really see that this image would work so well with the sentiment. I printed the panel and coloured it with a yellow Promarker. Cut it out with my deckled edge paper trimmed and inked the edges with distressing ink.

The image has been coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers. I really worked hard to create texture in the hair and coloured all the pretty butterflies in the colours of the rainbow. I fussy cut (OMG, took me ages!!) and mounted onto 3d foam. The green card black has been covered with a lovely swirly paper from the First Edition Spring Feast pad and I added the sentiment and image to it. The image has been rotated slightly so she faces the sun. I added a few more glittery butterfly stickers and called it done J

In a bizarre twist on the day I made this card we met up with our friends who we haven’t seen for a couple of months. My friend Sue has been so amazingly supportive of me and my mental health problems and was remarking about how much different I am now I am out of the darkness. She was talking about how she likes to turn her face to the sun when it is shining on her fence at home and loves the pretty patterns. She then said that she could see that I was so much lighter and brighter as a person and it was now my time to shine. I swear she must have been in my head and I saw her the following day, gave her this card and told her why I was smiling the whole time we were having our conversation the previous evening. Yet another example of everything happening for a reason……
