Imagine That March Progressive Freebie

Over at Imagine That there is a Progressive Freebie challenge every month.
The digi pack we were given this month is Kitty in Flowers which has this cute kitty in a flowerpot and some great sentiments. I love the banner but the colours were not right for this project. However, I am sure I will be using it for something else J

The image is coloured with Promarkers & Flexmarkers. I used the Meow sentiment and coloured the little flowers with a red glitter gel pen.

The card base is a patterned one from DCWV. I am having a huge sort out of my Craft Room as it is tiny and overflowing. I came across a box which had loads of card blanks in there and I am putting everything in rainbow colour order and when I saw this one I knew it would be perfect. This image was coloured a few weeks ago and If I had made this card then I wouldn’t have found the card blank would I? Things happen for a reason J
I cut the image out with my trusty Fiskars embroidery scissors and added it to the card raised on thin 3d foam squares. The sentiment was cut with as Quickutz Cookie Cutter die. The lush ribbon is from my recent win from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I added some paper flowers with brad centres and called it done.

I am very late adding my card as we have had the unfortunate event of my Husband’s 101 Year old Grandma passing away. She would have loved the bright colours in this card and I am going to miss making cards for her. She really loved the amount of work I put into them for her and saved all the cards she was given for me so that I could cut them up and recycle elements from them. She passed away a week on Friday and we have only had the death certificate today so can now start the funeral plans.  It’s very sad that she has passed but you can’t be too sad for a lady who lived to her grand age and still had all her marbles. She suffered for only the last few days so not a bad end when all is said and done. Paul is very upset as she has been there all his 45 years but I tell him he is lucky, most people his age would not have a Grandparent still alive for so many years. Doesn’t make it any easier though I guess. I say many years of happy memories should last him for his whole life. My

If you don’t already participate in Kris’s challenges you don’t know what you are missing. There will be a new one starting tomorrow so why don’t you head on over there. Hopefully I won’t be adding mine so late next month……..

Hi Mandy! Love your card and the pretty Fall color scheme!! Sorry to hear of your husband's grandma passing away... I'm sure that's gotta be hard to not have her around when you're so used to having her. But that's great that she was so healthy for so long. I am younger than your hubby and it's been... 25 years since I've had a grandparent. I wish I had more time with them. You and hubby are blessed. Praying for you guys as you make funeral plans. Hugs!!
