Daisy Doodles #51 Anything Goes

At Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges we have a new challenge today

Anything Goes

*********************************************
For my card I have used this cute image of Sidney the Koala. You will receive it in 3 formats for only $2.  Head over to the Daisy Doodles Store to check them it out !

I coloured the Koala with Promarkers & Flexmarkers using the blender to pen to add some stippling to the fur and some longer tufts on his ears. I added a second layer for his head and decoupaged it using 3d foam. I love his little adorable face J

The image is matted onto a scrap of brown card and I used some handmade paper which has flocked leaves on it for the background. As Sidney is hugging the tree I thought a sentiment featuring the word hug would be appropriate and used a ticket that was a freebie from SGT Stamper.

When I was younger my maternal Grandad gave me a real Koala which he had brought back from Australia when he was in the Navy. It had been stuffed and I loved to touch the fur as it was so soft. I guess as kid I never realised it was wrong to have a real stuffed animal and wouldn’t dream of doing so today. I would much rather see a real live one than a stuffed one, and maybe one day I would be lucky enough to hold one…..

*********************************************

I hope you will pop over to the blog to see the lovely creations on there from the rest of the DT and we look forward to seeing your entries in for our Anything Goes challenge.

I'll see you again next time with another lovely Daisy Doodles design.

CDAC PC10 Beary Sweet Winter

It’s Round 10 of the Progressive Challenge at CDAC  and we have some lovely

Bringing In The New Year

themed images for this round. Team A have the pleasure in bringing you some gorgeous samples for the images for this round.

My card is using a cute image called Beary Sweet Winter from Digi’s by Phooka.

I have combined 3 digital images together to make this card. I used a previous freebie Fireworks design by Anne Fenton for the background, placed the cute bear in front and used a sentiment stamp from Shannon’s Sentiments adding the 2012 with a font in the graphics programme. I love the flexibility you have with digis and that you can combine images to make something unique for your own cards.

The image is coloured with Promarkers and I have used a clear Sakura glitter pen on the stars, adding lots of star shaped and small gems from Papermania in clear and blue.

I have used a sheet of pearlescent card for the base card, adding a piece of metallic card with embossed silver stars. The image is matted onto some more card and raised on 3d foam. The holographic stars have been in my stash for years and I threaded some metal brads from Papermania through, adding them to the top of the card to look like they are part of the fireworks.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy New Year, I hope that 2012 has started off well for you and will bring you much happiness and good health.

****************************************

If you have taken part in the last challenge you will be receiving your images to work with for this part. If however you didn't enter all is not lost. For the paltry sum of only $1 you can buy back into the challenge and you will receive the images.

The deadline to enter your cards is 31st January. For all details on this challenge, the rules and how it works please pop over to this thread at the CDAC

Materials Used in this card are as follows:-

Myself and Choccy have used this gorgeous Baby Sleeping image from Sylvie Stamps and I have made my card suitable for a baby girl. The image has been coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers.

I covered my card blank with a new paper from the Papermania capsule collection that came in the new goody bag. I loved all the different pink papers and thought it would be perfect for this gorgeous image. I raised it from the main card on 3d foam squares.

The mat has been cut from an offcut of Cloud Nine paper from Fiskars and I used a strip of white card, punched with a Fiskars border punch and cut a strip of the striped paper that is from the same Cloud Nine baby girl pack. The ribbon is self adhesive and I used and embroidered pink bow from my stash. The 2 hearts and the sentiment are gel stickers.

This week I had the pleasure of working with a digi from Barbara Jensen and I chose this fabulous design called Poison Ivy. I really like the more racy designs that she does but I am really nervous of working with them as I am not sure that I can do them justice. I was however drawn to this one as I love the intense look she has in her eyes. I felt that she suited a fiery mane of hair so colouring with my Promarkers I used oranges and reddy browns to shade it in and complimented it with a pale body tone being careful with my shading and blending.

I used a Nestabilities die to cut it out and a mat in dark brown. I used a sheet of  dark green card for the base and added a copper metallic card which has a swirl design embossed onto it and a piece of handmade paper with a fern leaf flocked onto it. I added a brown suede ribbon to cover the join adding a couple of leaf brads and a self adhesive gold fabric glittered butterfly to complete the card.

This image reminded me of a Garden of Eden type image as she looks a bit like a maneater and so I used a sentiment which would entice a man to meet her in the garden. Dressed as she is I am sure no man could resist………

Myself and Choccy have used this fabulous Ice Cream Cottage digi from Hope Jacare Doodles. It reminds me of the iced gem biscuits I used to have when I was a kid and I used pink and brown as the main colours. I coloured the image using Promarkers and Flexmarkers and used a Nestabilities die to cut it out and created a matter layer with brown cardstock. The main base of the card is the same colour brown cardstock and I covered this with a spotty paper from the Sweet Owl First Edition pad by Dovecraft. The glittery patterned paper down the side is an offcut from another sheet in the pack. My first official use of a snippet in 2012 J The sentiment from my stash was trimmed down a little and then matted onto scraps of cardstock. Both the main image and the sentiment are raised on 3d foam and just to finish off I added a little punchie from a house shaped punch. Perfect card for a new home

I made my card this week with a combo pack called In the Meadow We Can Build a Snowman from Reece’s Scrap Pieces which has the digi image, a coloured image and 5 different patterned papers in a blue and purple colour palette.

I selected the snowman paper and the marble blue one and then coloured the image with Promarkers and Flexmarkers to match. One of the papers has the repeating phrase on it so I isolated one to print out for the sentiment. I used a punch on the blue paper and matted the image on some scrap navy blue card and mounted with 3d foam. The sentiment has been cut with a Quickcutz die, mounted onto the dark blue and raised on foam pads. I used some stickles glitter glue on the snowflakes and snowdrifts and around the sentiment panel.

This is the last challenge for the year and we will be back again with challenge #94 on January 1st 2012 however, if you are up for it there will be a mini challenge on Christmas Day so you can pop on over and see us if you fancy a challenge after stuffing yourself full of lovely Christmas goodies.
