Half Daisy

I didn't have a very good day yesterday depression wise. I'm just so tired and this awful dismal weather really affects my mood so badly so I had a bit of a cardmaking sesh and created some beauty which made me happier. I just really hate how I can be okay a lot of the time and then have such an amazing crash seemingly without any reason :(

Arielle at Wax Fruit Company has requested that we post cards made with her images so she can see lots of examples in the store. You get extra points if you feature one that isn't already there.

This Half Daisy from the Gerber Daisy set was on the CDAC and I have had it coloured with Promarkers for quite a while but not yet made it up into a card. I took a look at the current sketches and found one at Clean & Simple #152 which I thought would work quite well with the image.

I have used scraps of papers from Papermania Woodland Friends pad to match the browns in the sunflower, Gold peel offs for the wording and a Doodlebug double sided sticker which has been sprinkled with very fine gold glitter. For me this is a Clean and Simple card which shows off the digi perfectly.

Materials Used in this card are as follows:-
Card Size - A5
Paper - Woodland Friends by Papermania (more snippets used!!)
Sentiment - Peel off Stickers Forever Friends by Papermania
Embellishments - Doodlebug double sided sticker with Ultrafine glitter
Tools - Scissors, Promarkers,
Techniques - Fussy cutting around flower shape

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges (in Alphabetical Order):-

Mandy, this may be a CAS card, but it is certainly not lacking a thing. Your sunflower is stunning. You colored it expertly.

Thank you for your openness about your struggles with depression. It is a very misunderstood illness.

The fact is, you can be a positive thinking, faith-filled person and still suffer with times of depression.

It is kind of like you are in the middle of enjoying a good swim and suddenly there seem to be weights tied to your legs threatening to pull you under.

I have been on medication for anxiety and depression for about 2 years. I am that positive thinking and faith-filled kind of person. I suspect that you are too.

Thanks ever so much for your kind comments on my blog about the passing of my pet rabbit, Neelix. You are so sweet and thoughtful.

Praying for you to rise to the top today and be filled with joy.

Blessings & a big hug,
Teresa

Ah, depression - Churchill called it the 'black dog' I believe. A doctor once told me that 'this, too will pass' and 'you will get better' and I hang on to that whenever I'm going through a bad spell. What do you take comfort from? It's just as well we have crafting for therapy :) Your card is just fab - love the daisy peeping out.
