OSAAT #72 - August Collab

For my card for this challenge I have used a fabulous digi from Delicious Doodles from the August store collab. When I saw the artists palette I was inspired to make an easel card and planned to actually put a picture that had been 'painted' onto the easel.

I made the easel by placing lollypop sticks in an easel shape onto the vertical part of the card. I made a canvas from a part of one of my pretty glitter papers from Dovecraft, mounted it onto a piece of chipboard for stability and glued it to the easel. I used a small brown inkpad to add a bit of colour to the outside of the card and also to the easel.

The artists palette has been coloured with Marvy Le Plume pens and attached to the easel.

The lower portion of the card has been covered with one of the papers in the same pad. I have made the easel stopper with one of the same flowers as in the paper above and attached with 3D foam. The sentiment panel is a Marianne Creatables die cut and the quote is one I found on the internet that for me sums up all us arty people.

Blog Re-organisation



Yay, at long last I have finally worked out how to get the pages bit to work on Blogger so I am having a bit of a re-organisation. In the meantime I apologise for the less than aesthetic look to my blog at the moment. I hope to get my happy rainbows back ASAP

P.S. Dont you just love that You can find any image you want on the tinterweb these days?

Sir Tim Berners-Lee is an absolute genius (for those that don't know he was the man who invented the internet in the format we know today, he is a legend and to be worshipped!!)

Christmas Snowman


It's Thursday night and that can only mean one thing...... a mad dash to get my card finished and uploaded for the progressive challenge at Delightful Inspiration. Faith has treated us to a lovely little snowman with pressies and the Saturday challenge is to do a Christmas card but not with the traditional red and green colours (hope my tag is okay just realised the writing is green - ho hum!)

Anyhoo I have used a scalloped card blank and covered it with a scrap of a wrapping paper from Paperchase, far too nice to waste on a gift if you ask me! The image has been coloured with Promarkers and mounted on a scrap of blue card from my stash. Jules is encouraging us to use our scraps and I would LIKE to say that my stockpiles are diminishing but it would be a blooming lie. If my hubby had his way he would throw the lot out I can tell you. Any volunteers to protect me and my stash are welcome, I make a mean chilli !

I have used a sketch from Outlawz for the layout, adding Paperchase gems in the corner, a tag from Dovecraft, a little bit of ribbon from stash and a DCWV sentiment sticker that is suffering from being colourblind and is definitely not green honest!

That's me finished for today. I have painted the bathroom door and the whole house stinks of either chilli or paint fumes! No wonder I've got a headache (that'll be my cold...)

Guest Designer at Michelle Perkett Studios

Good Morning from a sunny Birmingham. I cannot tell you how happy I am to see some sunshine, goodness know we have had some miserable weather in the UK!! Hopefully I will be able to shake this cold I am saddled with at the moment too :)

Today I am delighted to be a Guest Designer at Michelle Perkett Studios. They have a challenge at the moment of Let's Go To The Beach. I would love to go to the beach, shame we live so far away so I will have to be satisfied with making images of the beach instead.

I used a gorgeous little digi 'Olive' to make this card and coloured her in with Promarkers.

I used a Kraft base, layered some paper from DCWV which has been inked around the edges to knock it back a little. I mounted the image on some more Kraft and using one of the DCWV papers cut the waves out in 2 layers to emulate the sea. These are mounted on a thin 3d foam and I curled the edges forward to make it look more tactile. These were very fiddly to cut out but so worth it.

I had been following the sketch from Card Patterns #125 and up to this point everything was going well but with the trims and mats my image became too big for my card base and looked out of proportion so I 'fixed' it by moving it over towards the right hand side and added a strip of paper from the ribbon sheet that the waves came from. Last but not least I dug a little shell embellishment from my stash and added it to the sand.

There is a freebie available with the current challenge so no excuse not to take part, hope this little spell of sunshine will have you enspired :)
