Single Rose RSVP

The challenge at Beccy’s Place this month is anything goes with one of Beccy’s images. I was very fortunate to win the Rose Bouquet Set last month and felt it would be particularly appropriate to use this set for my card this month.

My favourite image is the Single Rose, just sheer perfection and so very detailed. My favourite colour of rose is yellow but as I had just made a card recently with the same colours I went more towards the pink spectrum for a change.

I used Promarkers to colour my image and added darker colours to the centre of the rose and petal edges. I used a border due from Crafter’s Companion for the trim at the bottom and layered it up with 3d foam.

I used a sketch from CAS Colours and Sketches for the layout. The paper is a Pink Petticoat one from a magazine freebie. The ribbon is a scrap from DCWV and the sentiment is a rub on from Royal & Langnickel.

We have been invited to another wedding reception and I needed to do an RSVP for it so I felt this image would be perfect for it. I don’t do CAS very often as it is I really have to fight the urge not to fill the space up with an embellishment but at least the paper is pretty and not covered up with loads of added elements and of course the image is perfection and needs very little to complement it anyway J

Materials Used in this Project are as follows:-
Card size – 5” Square
Paper – Pink Petticoat magazine freebie
Sentiment – Rub on from Royal & Langnickel
Tools – Letraset Promarkers & Flexmarkers, Crafter’s Companion Grace Frame border die, 3d foam pads
Embellishments – DCWV Ribbon
Techniques – Diecutting

Beccy's Place Thinking of You

I have been a follower of Beccy’s Place for a long time and am therefore lucky to have collected a large number of free images. I am however ashamed to admit that upto now I have only ever coloured one in L I keep intending to join in the monthly challenges and never seem to get round to it so I made a special effort for this one. The challenge this month is to use any floral image from Beccy’s Place.

The one I have used was a freebie (still available!) and I have based the colours of red and black on the roses vellum background which is a very deep red with black in it. I coloured the rose on the image/sentiment to match and created many layers for the vellum base and the image. I used Fiskars punch to create the layered element on the left hand side and added some ribbon and a bow. I added 2 gems to the corners and declared it finished. I added some glossy accents to the flower and leaves but not sure that you can see it very well in the photo.

I am trying to get myself better organised and have created a schedule which should allow be to be better focused on what needs making and when. I like to have a balance between DT work but also with other projects I want to work on and thus far my list is allowing me to be more structured with my creativity and get more projects done. Time will tell if this continues……

Materials Used in this Project are as follows:-
Card size – DL Letter
Paper – Red Rose Vellum by Artoz
Tools – Letraset Promarkers & Flexmarkers, Fiskars Punch
Embellishments – Glossy Accents, gems from Dovecraft, ribbon by Papermania, ribbon bow recycled from an old Christmas Card

Techniques – Punching, recycling

Beccy's Place Penguin

I have been a follower at Beccy’s Place for a long time and she is so generous giving away her freebies. I have to be completely honest and say that although I have been collecting them I am ashamed to say that I have not previously coloured one up and actually made a card with one. Last year I didn’t make many cards other that doing DT work and I am trying to re-dress the balance this year and make more cards for my own pleasure as well.

I am entering Beccy’s challenge for the 1st time, thus forcing myself to use more images from other designers J

I am consciously making a big effort to get my Christmas cards made earlier this year and I do love this little fella. He is a freebie called Penguin from Beccy’s Place and is still available here. I coloured him up with Promarkers and Flexmarkers and used the outside of an Oval die to cut the shape out, inking around the edge with a small almost dry ink pad.

I have used a sketch from Sweet Stop for the layout. The snowflake paper is a Crafter’s Companion freebie from a magazine pullout, the stripy card is a glittered one from a DCWV drawer set that I had years ago from QVC. I cut 2 rectangles into the cross shape to piece together so have the opposite pieces to use on another card.

The snowflake dies are from Spellbinders. I purchased these in a sale for only £9.99 and this is the 1st time I have used them. I LOVE LOVE LOVE snowflakes and when I saw these at such a bargainous price I knew that some of my Christmas pennies were going to buy them. I am sure you will see them a lot…… I have used oddments of glitter card and different blues to make them, adding 3d foam squares and gemstones. The sentiment is recycled from a store bought card.
Woohoo, that’s another Christmas card done J
