TSC Cool Becca Boo

The Stamping Chef has a weekly competition on their Facebook page TSC Recipes.

You email for the image, which is this case is Cool Becca Boo, you upload a card in the folder, you get lots of lovely comments from some very nice people and the chance to win a free image. If you ask for the freebie you MUST make a card with it though or you will not be allowed to get freebies again, it’s only fair J

Becca looked like she was looking at something so I decided it would be a dog. This little cutie is from a Broken Box Stock freebie called Kirby. He looks like he needs a good home. I’d have him but Paul is not an animal lover so no chance of me having a pooch L The bone is a free image from the Stamp Fairy and is a sentiment that I have resized very small. I coloured all the images with my Promarkers and Flexmarkers, fussy cut them and mounted on 3d foam.

I used a sketch A313 from House The Stamps Built for the layout covering the base of my card with some pawprint paper from a Kanban kit from QVC. The paw print border is from the same kit. I cut a mat from some textured DCWV cardstock and mounted onto some foam. Finally I added loads of gems and a little heart as Cool Becca Boo loves her doggy.

If you don’t take part in the challenges on Facebook you are missing out on some lovely free images so I hope you will pop over there and join in the fun.

Materials Used in this card are as follows:-
Card Size – A6
Images – Cool Becca Boo by The Stamping Chef, Kirby from Broken Box Stock & Woof bone from The Stamp Fairy
Paper – Kanban & DCWV
Tools - Letraset Promarkers & Flexmarkers, Marianne Creatibles die, 3d foam
Embellishments – loads of gems
Techniques – Diecutting, distressing

Imagine That Progressive Freebie

I've come across a new to me Progressive Freebie challenge from Imagine That Digis by Kris Breach and got this fab car image Speeding By which I knew would be perfect with the Racing Rachel image I won from The Stamping Chef recently.

As I was watching the Formula 1 this morning I was colouring both images in. I used the colours from Red Bull as my inspiration. Although I support Lewis Hamilton the team colours are not as vibrant with Mercedes.

Both images are coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers and have been fussy cut and mounted onto 3d foam. I used a sheet of A4 card for the base and added some cardstock, the tyre border and sentiment from a Kanban card kit I had as a gift off QVC about 4 years ago.

These all combined together to make a fab card for a man and I find those so hard to do so can see me using these 2 images together again.

Please head over to Imagine That to take part in the next challenge.

Materials Used in this Project are as follows:-
Card size – A5
Paper & Sentiment – Kanban kit from QVC
Sentiment – From stash mounted on gold card
Tools – Letraset Promarkers & Flexmarkers, 3d foam pads

This cute little teddy is Beary Happy Bear from Kaz Kraftz. The placard that he is holding is blank so you can put your own message in it.

The little fella is coloured with Promarkers & Flexmarkers and I have added a furry texture using various shades of brown and pouncing on it with a lighter shade so it creates a rough furry look to it. I cut around the image and added some 3D foam. Using a new set of dies from X Cut I created a mat from iridescent silver card.

I used a sheet of pale blue card for the base and added some star embossed card from Kanban. I used a strip of holographic card I have had in my stash FOREVER to add a bit of New Year pizazz. I then added some peel off stars around the bear to tie it to the backing card.

I decided it needed a little something so added a die cut star embellished with some faux stitches, bakers twine and some curling ribbon.

I do hope that you had a fabulous Christmas and that the New Year has started off well for everyone J

Happy Birthday Adam

Paul and I were invited to the 21st Birthday of his trainee at work. It was a bit of an honour as it was all his family that were there and it is obvious he thinks a lot of Paul to have invited us. They’d had a collection at work for him and decorated his desk and the office so it was all set up for when he got there the following day. I think he was quite surprised they had done it as they do not tend to go all out on things like that.
I’ve only met him a couple of times but knew he was into sporty cars so cracked open a Kanban card kit that my MIL bought me from QVC a few years ago. I don’t tend to use these kits on their own and prefer to mix with other papers etc but in this case with a bit of personalisation it was perfect as it was. The card blank was printed already but I did find that I had to trim the edges down as the little tabs had ruined the metallic edges of the card. The decoupage layers were die cut but there was too much white in odd places so I trimmed it down  so it was neater. I layered on 3d foam squares and added some peel off lettering to the tool box, his age to the wheels and a sentiment sticker to finish off.
I was quite pleased with it when it had been tweaked a bit but would not have been happy with it if I had used the kit as it was. I have use Kanban papers and cardstock many times but this is the 1st time that I have used a readymade kit and have to say I was disappointed with the quality of it. However the Birthday Boy loved it and that is all that matters J

Materials Used in this card are as follows:-

Card Size – 6” Square
Image – Kanban
Sentiment – Peel off stickers Docrafts & Dovecraft
Tools – Scissors, 3d foam
Techniques – Decoupage

Goodness me, this is my 900th post! That's a lot of cardmaking and waffle, thankfully though for you my dear readers most of it has been cardmaking......

It was my turn to pick an image for me and teamie Choccy to work with and as I am still frantically trying to get my Christmas cards done I chose this Christmas Candle image from Kaz Kraftz. You get 2 different files, one which is the candle image in 2 different sizes and the other which is the candle and a topper of the floral section for decoupage. It is this one I chose to work with for my card.

I coloured the image using Promarkers & Flexmarkers and kept to the traditional red and green Christmas colours. I used some Woodware applique paint for the wax on the candle so it is raised and shiny, just like dripping wax would be. I also used some glossy accents to add shine to the candle flame and the pool of wax on the top of the candle. Unfortunately the photo doesn’t show the shine as much as it should. It is so dark and dismal in the UK and this was lit with 2 lamps. After several attempts I had to admit defeat L  I added some Stickles glitter glue and gold and red to the poinsettia and a few accents using a gold gel pen.

The card blank was distressed around the edges with a small blank ink pad. The main backing paper is from a Dovecrafts pad, Back to Basic Christmas. I used a Nestabilities die to cut a mat from a scrap of green card. The oval of text paper is from Papermania and then the candle image is laid onto this.

The glittery spotty ribbon is from Dovecraft, the Papermania sentiment has been matted onto some more green card and the added gems are from a DCWV Christmas kit.
I was lucky enough to be asked to make a project using an image from our Sponsor Rick St Dennis which is coming up on the next post.
