Imagine That Skipper's Pocket

It’s Flashback time at Imagine That! and today I bring you a card made using an older design from the store.

I have used the image Skipper’s Pocket. You get both the outline image and the coloured version in the same pack.

I also used the matching digi papers Frog In My Pocket

And a sentiment from Hedgie Friends

I used the 2 digi papers to crate my base element and then added the plain jeans pocket over the papers. This was then printed onto glossy photo paper and it really has excellent print quality.

I used the pocket with flowers and printed onto my normal digi paper, I wanted it to create a layered effect, almost like a patch pocket that Skipper would be peeking out from. I coloured with Promarkers, cut it out and mounted with 3d foam.

I added embellishments in the form of gems and pearls and then the sentiment has faux stitches on it to emulate the stitching on the jeans.

Please pop along to the blog to see the other projects my team mates have done. They really are very talented and Kris’ amazing designs makes it so easy to be creative.

Materials Used in this Project are as follows:-
Card size – A6
Image – Skipper’s Pocket from Imagine That!
Sentiment – Hedgie Friends from Imagine That!
Embellishments – assorted gems and pearls

For this challenge card I have used Beach Boy with papers from both the paper packs. All the elements have been printed off onto lightweight cardstock and assembled following a sketch layout from I {Heart} Card Sketches. I added some brown card for layering and distressed the edges with scissors. The spotty paper is inside a digital bracket shape frames that I downloaded from The Scrappin Cop.

For the image layer I played about with the position of the sunburst so that I could make it look like sun rays. I just love playing with digi images to produce something different. Kris’ sets are so much fun and make it very easy to create fabulous projects and the co-ordinating paper packs make it come together so well.

How would you like to win a Prize??

I am giving away the Beach Boy digi image pack that I have used for this challenge to one lucky reader who leaves a comment on this post. Please leave a comment before 12 noon GMT and one commenter will be selected at random to win this cute little boy playing in the sand.

If you saw the last card I made using the Hedgehog Greetings pack you will know that I have a friend who runs a hedgehog sanctuary from her home. At the moment she is looking after 9 babies and between them they need 53 feeds per day. She asked me to make some thankyou cards for the people who make donations to her and I have used these images to make another couple for her. I do plan to make a lot more for her as my way of donating to her. I may also have asked if I can cuddle a baby hedgehog or two J

As I will be mass producing them I have used the colour images of the Hedgie Boy and Hedgie Girl and printed them onto matte photo paper. They have a slight sheen to them and the colours have printed out so well. I flipped the little boy around so they are both facing the same way. These are matted onto scraps of cardstock from my ‘go to here first’ scraps box. There are no embellishments to keep bulk and postage costs down. As much as much as I love adding bling etc it is not cost effective for a non profit organisation that is run on donations.

The cards have been made using the same background paper. I was very lucky to have recently won 5 sheets of this in 12” x 12” size so they will make quite a few cards. I have used up scraps of papers from the Woodland Friends paper pack by Docrafts. I made the girl hedgie more feminine with a punched border. To finish off I have added one of the sentiments from the digi pack.

I approached Kris to ask if she could come up with a design based on a hedgehog holding a banner into which you could pop a sentiment to suit the occasion. I had a particular need and just could not find the right image so Kris stepped into the breach J

One of my friends Sally is just an inspirational woman. She suffers the most awful pain with her neck and shoulder yet remains the most smiley person with something lovely to say about everyone. Her little son is the coolest kid with the same sunny disposition. She has started to run a sanctuary for hedgehogs in her back garden and of course it costs money and she relies on donations and a wonderful hubby who helps build sheds, websites, feeding and anything else required !

Sally asked me if I would make some cards for her to say thankyou to the people that donate to this amazing cause. I have offered to make some for free for her as a way of supporting her so I need to make it a reasonably cheap to produce style based on supplies that I have. I do have some hedgehog images but none were ‘perfect’ I have sent some sample images to her but this one is a surprise as it has been designed especially for her and me.

I have used a Craftwork Cards base and added papers from the Woodland Friends collection by Papemania. The image has been coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers. You have the option of the little boy or the little girl hedgie with  a flower in her hair. I of course chose the cute whimsical option J

I used some Kraft card to mat the image on using a Nestabilities Lacey Squares die. In hindsight I made the image a bit smaller than I will do in future so I added a frame around it with a fine tipped Letraset pen. There is also a coloured option to the image so this would make it quicker and easier to mass produce. I do however prefer to colour so will more than likely use my pens.

I just wanted to say a mahoosive thanks to Kris for designing this set for me. I am sure Sally will be overwhelmed when she see’s it .

Please pop over to visit her at Happyhogs Hegehog Rescue on Facebook and her website. If you have some pennies to spare she would I am sure appreciate any donations that come her way. She is nursing some little babies back to health at the moment. Such hard work but what a privilege.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and Flexmarkers and I used a sketch from I {Heart} Card Sketches for the layout.

The paper has encapsulated glitter on the background and is from the First Edition Boho Chic pad, the colours are warm and summery and matched the theme of the image. I used a Martha Stewart trellis punch behind the image and added some sequin flowers and self adhesive gem centres.

The sentiment is a digi and is one that I‘d had printed out for a awhile but not got round to using. I added a small amount of Stickles glitter glue to the hearts on Lily’s top and sneakers and called it complete.

Imagine That Bees n Sunflowers

It is New Release day at Imagine That! Digis by Kris and there are loads of new goodies to choose from.

We have Bee Boy, Bee Girl and a fantastic paper pack Bees n Sunflowers. All the images are available in outline or coloured options so are very versatile for colouring of use in scrapbook pages and printed cards. Please pop over to the store to see the New Releases.

I had real fun with this card and printed out some of the lovely coloured images and papers for this card. For the from I used the big sunflower from the Bee Girl set, creating lots of texture with 3 layers for the flower. This is layered onto a doily cut with a die from DCWV textured cardstock. I used the Bee Trails paper from the pack for the base mounted onto more brown cardstock and then a white base. The sentiment is from the pack and cut into a banner shape. I have added some bees from the paper which have been enlarged to create an embellishment. Even the bees are decoupaged to create layers to the wings.

I got a bit carried away and ended up decorating the inside too! In my digital program I started with the Hexagons Yellow paper for the base and added the Bee Boy . I have also used the sentiment from the pack and the little bee. This whole ensemble was printed out and mounted onto more of the brown cardstock and stick to the inside of the card. The whole card is very thick with so many layers on the flower but I think you can really see the dimension in the petals and the rounded dome of the centre section.

I love to colour so admit I would not normally use the coloured images but these were really fab to work with. The papers have such a vibrancy to the colours and the images are just so easy to work with. I love to ‘play’ with digital images and it is great to be able to do all your layering digitally before you print it out.

This will not be the last time I will be using the coloured options that’s for sure J

Ladybug Friends Digital Card

It’s time for Challenge #8 at Imagine That! Digis by Kris and if you took part in the last challenge you will have received the Ladybug Friends pack.

My previous post showcase a card I made with the outline images but when I saw the coloured version and the pretty papers I was immediately inspired to have a play and made a digital card.

I use a graphics programme called Xara and started with a black square. I them layered the Red and Black polka dots paper onto it. I used the Ladybugs on Green on a matted black layer. The image is inside a digi frame and the sentiment is matter on a black rectangle. It was really quick to create and just such fun to do. I left it as a digital file as I was only having a play but it would be so easy to create your card on screen with so many layers but then print it out and you have made yourself a multi-layered card in just one layer of printing.

Materials Used in this Project are as follows:-
Card size – 6” Square DIGICARD
Paper – Blossoms n Bugs Digi Paper Pack from Bella’s Boutique

Imagine That #8 Ladybug Friends

It’s time for Challenge #8 at Imagine That! Digis by Kris and if you took part in the last challenge you will have received the Ladybug Friends pack which has this really cute image of the ladybird and the little girl image with 4 different sentiments

Pop over to the store to see this image and all the other amazing sets. This set is available as a coloured option and there are some fabulous digi paper packs too so lots to choose from.

I used a sketch from A Die for A Sketch for the layout. I coloured  my image with promarkers and flexmarkers, then used a Nellie Snellen die to cut it out and a black matting layer. The spotty paper is from the Family Ties First Edition pad and I thought it would be perfect to go with the spotty ladybirds.

I chose to use the caught a bug sentiment but split it up to fit the card better and follow the layout of the sketch. It is quite a large message and goes to prove that with a little thought you can split a pre-printed design up and use for your own purposes. To finish off I simply added some Candi dots from Craftwork Cards.
