Sea Turtle Kiss

Over at Delightful Inspiration {From the Heart} the progressive freebie image this month is a fabulous set Sea Turtle Beach which has 3 images and 3 sentiments, what an amazing gift! Thank you so much Faith.

I love the image of the 2 turtles kissing and opted to use this. I made a turtle sentiment to go with it and printed that on the image which I then cut out with a pretty nestabilities die.

The image has been coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers. I matted it onto a scrap of blue card and then both patterned papers are by DCWV and have been previously cut into. Other than the card base all the papers are offcuts

If you would like this sentiment I have added it below in PNG and JPG. I would ask that you credit me and link back if you use it and please do not claim it as your own

I look forward to seeing next month’s image from Faith. Thank you so much for running these progressive challenges, they are so much fun.

It was my turn to choose and image for myself and Choccy to work on and I picked this fun image Poodles by Stitchy Stamps. One of my best friend’s has done Rock N Roll dancing for a number of years and this was the perfect image for a birthday card for her. Her birthday isn’t until December so how organised am I?

I wanted to keep the colour scheme simple and punchy so stuck to pinks with black and white throughout. I coloured the image with Promarkers and Flexmarkers.

I chose an older sketch by Incy Wincy Designs for the layout and picked some spotty ribbon which was mounted onto strips of scrap card to stabilise them and stop the black of the designer paper showing through. I added Candi dots to ‘anchor’ the ends and carry the colour theme on. The fabric flower came in an assorted bag I bought from a friend on Facebook who was having a clear out. The felt flowers came from assorted packs of flowers and butterflies from Poundland.

The sentiment is one that I made myself as I couldn’t find anything suitable in my collection. I have attached it below and you are free to download it for yourself. We have the JPG and PNG versions. All I ask is that you credit me if you do use them and link back to me so people can download them here. Please do not claim them as your own. If you do use them please let me know so I can pop along and see your project.

CDAC Progressive Freebie Challenge

The new challenges at CDAC are great as they have a fabulous time window, however I have had this image coloured up for about 6 weeks and am so annoyed with myself that it has taken me until tonight to make my card.

The Progressive Challenge for Round 1 gave us this lovely angel from Shelly's Images aptly named Angelic and it also came with a great sentiment. I however opted to make one of my own. I have attached it below and you are more than welcome to download it if you feel it will be of any use to you.

The image was coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers and I created a second layer with the body and heart. Both are mounted on 3d foam. The wings have been covered with Stickles glitter glue and left free so they could be curled up away from the card.

The base card is an A4 sheet of red marbled card. The roses paper is from a Dovecraft pad and the red roses are embossed and glossy. The hearts are also from a sheet of the same paper pad.

I used a sketch from Come And Get It for the layout. The ribbon is one of my favourites and I added it to a scrap of red card so the lace trim contrasted against the paper better. Finally I added the sentiment onto a scrap of card and mounted on 3d foam.

This is completely different to any card I have ever made. In fact I would guess that many people would look at this and not think it was one of mine. It is not an image that I would have thought to use, that is the beauty of these progressive challenges though as it does encourage you to work with something a bit different.

Now for the freebie sentiment I have used. The JPG and PNG file are both included. I ask that you do not claim them as your own, give credit to me if you use them and if possible pop a message on my blog so I can see your creation.

Materials Used in this card are as follows:-

Card Size – A5
Image – Angelic by Shelly's Images
Sentiment - Made By Mandy
Paper – Rose Garden First Edition pad by Dovecraft
Embellishments – Lace Edge ribbon, Stickles Glitter glue
Tools – Letraset Promarkers & Flexmarkers, 3d foam, gold gel pen
Techniques – Decoupage

My card this week has been made using this gorgeous image Emo Valentine Fairy by Delicious Doodles. I love the darker images that Teri does but have never had the courage to have a go. There are so many very talented artists out there I have been afraid to use these images as I didn’t think I could do them justice. I specifically chose this image to make a card that my eldest neice could frame. I have missed out on a lot of her childhood due to an estrangement with my Sister for many years but we are all building bridges and strengthening our relationships with one another. In the meantime this once little girl has grown up to be a beautiful 20 year old Emo and I know she will love this to a T.

I coloured the image using Promarkers and Flexmarkers and added some silver gel pen for the skull jewellery and lots of stickles glitter for the wings. I used a black cardstock for the base and covered with some spotty paper. I found a ‘girly’ skull in my digis with a bow on it which I thought was perfect so I made a border out of it and cut a single skull out as an embellishment.

Try as I might I couldn’t find a sentiment to match so I made my own!  I had included it here in both JPG and PNG format and you are welcome to download it if you can use it.

Please do not claim them as your own and give credit back to me if you do use them. I would appreciate it you would let me know if you do as I would love to pop over and see your creation.

Happy Birthday Computer Wiz

This is the card I made for my hubby for his birthday.
He is bonkers about computers and is my tech guru so I thought it would be fitting to make a computer based card for him.

The image is Computer Wiz from Robyn’s Fetish and is coloured with Promarkers & Flexmarkers.
I made my own backing paper using 1’s and 0’s to emulate binary code. The geek in him was very impressed I can tell you J

I used a font I had found on the tinterweb which is made out of computer keys for the sentiment. Black and silver have been used throughout for matting and layering. I recycled a small cd which was a driver disc that Paul was throwing out and found some silver peel offs with and @ sign and more 1’s and 0’s.

If anyone would like my binary code paper please leave me a comment and your email address and I will send it on to you.

Materials Used in this card are as follows:-

Card Size – A5
Paper – Binary Code Paper Made by Mandy J
Embellishments – peel off  stickers, recycled CD
Tools – Promarkers & Flexmarkers

For this challenge I chose Fluff from Barbara Jensen Designs. Although it isn’t a Chrismas image I thought if I used traditional colours it would work and that’s my Cristmas card for my hubby done early too J

I coloured the image with Promarkers and Flexmarkers keeping to just red and green colours. The image was cut out using a Nestabilities die and I used a small inkpad to distress the edges of the shape.

I had some Hobbycraft vouchers for my birthday and bought the current copy f Creative Cardmaking magazine which had some smashing papers and card by Kanban with it. I used the traditional green holly to cover the base of my card and the gold and red card has had some Stickles glitter glue added as ‘berries’. The swirly die cuts are a new acquisition from Sizzlits. There are 2 swirl dies and shadows and stamps to go with it. The poinsettia flowers are flocked velvet and add some gorgeous texture to it.

The stripy sentiment panel is by Craftwork Cards which I layered onto a scrap of white card. The sentiment was ‘Made By Mandy’, cut using a Nestabilities die and I added a couple of green gems to finish off.

I had added the sentiments below, in both JPG & PNG format. You are more than welcome to download them. Please do not add them to you blog or claim them as you own and if you do use them I would love to see your projects J
