Janey's Digi's Bleeding Heart

I have a pretty card to show you today using the gorgeous Bleeding Heart image from Janey’s Digi Designs . I have never seen one in real life but Janey assures me they are in bloom at the moment.

I coloured the image with Promakers and Flexmarkers using adding darker shading to the lips which burst opent to reveal the white and yellow section. I matted the image on a piece of card recycled from some sticker packaging.

I selected papers from a First Edition pad called Floral Pavilion and used the current sketch from Technostamper for the layout. This was perfect for the shape of the image and I get to use a button too! I used papers from the pad to trim into the baner shapes and added a snippet of ribbon to the button which is one of those hanging loops from a recently bought top.

Janey’s Bleeding Heart image can be purchased from the Etsy store. For inspiration please pop over to the blog and Facebook page where our very talented designers will be regularly showcasing these amazing images. There are cards featured which are from customers who have purchased the stamps too which must be an amazing feeling for Jane to see her images being used to create some fabulous cards. With over 20 images to choose from there is bound to be a pretty flower or 2 to take your fancy

Materials Used in this card are as follows:-
Card Size – A6
Sentiment – Clear sticker from Docrafts Daisy & Dandelion range
Paper – Floral Pavilion First Editions pad
Embellishments – Button from Papermania and ribbon recycled from clothing

Janey's Digi Designs Daylily Beth

Okay get your sunglasses on because this bright beauty will burn your eyes if you look at your screen for too long! It may be cold and possibly piddling down, but you will soon warm up when you have colourful flowers around you J

I have used Promarkers & Flexmarkers to colour this fabulous image Daylily Beth from Janey’s Digi Designs in bright orange colours and coloured them both differently. The one on the left has a yellow line in the centre of the petal which I have added glitter to. The one on the right I am most proud of as I have used a darker pen to draw lines on and then use glossy accents to raise them up. I’m pretty sure I have seen real lilies that look like that….. I cut around the image and mounted it on 3d Foam.

I have used the sketch from 2 Sisters Challenge for the layout. The papers are from the Boho Chic and Blank Canvas First Edition pads. I loved that there are so many orange shades of papers to choose from in these pads. Lots of them have encapsulated glitter or glossy effects on them too, they are lush J

The flowers are mounted onto a diecut using the Crafters Companion Grace Die’sire die. I love the intricacy of the shape and distressed the edges with a small inkpad.

Janey's Digi Designs Cowslip

It’s so blinking cold here in the UK. I really don’t think anyone has sent Mother Nature the memo that it is now almost Mid April, it should be a bit warmer and all the pretty flowers should now be in bloom.

It’s a good job that our intrepid gardener Jane is great at drawing or else we would have nothing pretty to look at, at least we can colour them in if nothing else J

Today I have used this fabulous image Cowslip from Janey’s Digi Designs and of course I have had to colour it in yellows with a spot of orange, they are my fave Spring colours afterall.

I have used my Promarkers and Flexmarkers to colour the image and this is quite large as it is an A5 card. I try to make smaller ones but don’t seem to manage it very often. It does however mean that you get to see these lovely blooms in all their glory.

I have used Sketch 235 from Clean & Simple Stamping for the layout. I had already coloured the image and as soon as I saw the layout I knew it would be perfect to showcase it, however I do not normally do CAS so really struggled with leaving so much white space. It was very hard for me not to add something I can tell you! I chose some sage green cardstock for the base of the card and to use for layering and then went in search of a nice yellow paper for the main cardstock. I came upon this lovely glittery tallow damask from the Family Ties First Edition pad by Dovecraft and declared it to be the winner. It is fairly subtle so enhanced the yellow flowers and pretty glitter stops it from looking too bare.

Janey's Digis Red Hot Poker

purple instead as I thought it would make a nice twist on the normal colours you see this vibrant flower.

I have used my Promarkers and Flexmarkers in various shades of purples making it very light at the bottom and going up to much more vibrant colours at the top. It was fun to play with different colours and keep blending and adding until I was happy with it.

I have used sketch #10 by I {Heart} Card Sketches for the layout. It really suited the shape of the image and allowed me to mat it on a piece of metallic cardsrtock which is actually a panel from a box of perfume, Midnight Fantasy by Britney Spears. Pretty perfect as it is a sweet floral scent and the box was too pretty not to use. The butterfly paper is from the Dreamcatcher pad by First Edition.

The sentiment is a digi freebie from MM Designs and as it is blooming snowing again it is very true of how I see the spots of colour that lovely flowers bring. I have used an assortment of fabric and paper flowers all held together with a glittery Papermania brad.

The Red Hot Poker image can be purchased from the Etsy store. For inspiration please pop over to the blog and Facebook page where our very talented designers will be regularly showcasing these amazing images.

Janey's Digi Designs Ferny Dropwort

The latest card I have made using Janey’s wonderful digi’s was inspired by a card My DT colleague Debbie had pinned from Pinterest. I have heard many people make reference to how inspiring Pinterest is and have seen many wonderful items on there but this is honestly the 1st lightbulb moment I had from seeing THIS FABULOUS CARD by Deanna at Kloset Kreations.

I love the Fern 1 image that Janey has drawn. I love how delicate each leaf is and how when you look at one leaf it has so many mini leaves. I also love how they are curled up and then unfurl themselves. I thought the Dropwort flowers would be a perfect compliment as they are also very delicate.

Also please note in pretty much complete contrast to most cards I make that this is quite subtle for me, no bold brash colours and no patterned paper. There is nothing to detract from the pure simplicity of the beautiful images

The image have been coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers and some gold gel pen has been added to the stamens of the Dropwort flowers. These were printed out in a variety of sizes and the centres were mounted onto 3d foam squares with the petals curled under slightly. The sentiment is from Paper Garden Projects.

The Fern 1 & Dropwort images can be purchased from the Etsy store. For more inspiration please pop over to the blog and Facebook page where our very talented designers will be regularly showcasing these amazing images.

Polyanthus - Janey's Digi Designs

For my second card using digi’s from Janey’sDigi Designs I have used the beautiful Polyanthus  image. I knew what this flower was and I love it in happy red and yellow combinations so knew straight away what colours I was using. I love how bright and bold it is, you know me I don’t do subtle very often…. LOL

I have used my Promarkers and Flexmarkers to shade them in. Love the new Chilli colour in my Flexmarkers, think this is my new go to red, it is so lovely and bright J I matted the image onto some black card and added a punched border and some self adhesive ribbon.

I have used sketch #4 by I {Heart} Card Sketches for the layout which I have rotated to better accommodate the image.

The spotty paper is from the Licorice Sherbet pad from Papermania and I used my gorgeous lace edged spotty ribbon. The sentiment is Craftwork Cards mounted onto some black cardstock and raised on 3d foam. I used the large flower bottom right to print out as a single embellishment and teamed this up with some self adhesive Prima swirls bling. Finally I added a small amount of stickles glitter glue to highlight the flower centres
The Polyanthus image can be purchased from the Etsy store. For inspiration please pop over to the blog and Facebook page where our very talented designers will be regularly showcasing these amazing images.
