Baby Boy Card

My lovely hubby asked me if I had any cards for a new baby boy so I had a look through what I had made already and only had one, loads of baby girls but not boys. As he wanted to take it so all his colleagues could sign it he needed a larger one so I rustled this up using lots of baby bits and pieces. Most unusual for me though is that there are no digi images on it!!!

I used a scalloped 8” square cardblank and added some Craftwork Cards Candi around the edges in plan blue and a paler spotted one. The main paper is by DCWV and is from a Spring themed drawer set from QVC which is years old. The paper has the spots on it, the wording and the star border so I just cut it to size and matted onto some blue card.

The little duck is a clear sticker from Papermania added to white card and then some of the blue and both layers have been trimmed with my corner rounding punch. I used some Woodware brads for the fuzzy hands and feel. The rattle is a glittered chipboard sticker from a sheet I got in a £1 shop in Manchester last year. The rocking horse is a 3d sticker from Poundland, the little hand is a Pebbles Inc sticker, the safety pins by Papermania and the Congratulations sentiment is a rub on.

I was told that the Mummy and Daddy loved the card and it had lots of lovely comments when it was being passed round for Paul’s colleagues to sign so I am really pleased it was received so well J

Materials Used in this card are as follows:-

Paper – DCWV
Embellishments – Craftwork Cards Candi, rub on, stickers by pebbles Inc, Papermania, Poundshow & Poundworld items, Fuzzy brads by Woodware

Daisy Doodles #62 Anything Goes

Over at Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges we have a new challenge today

*********************************************

For my card I have used one of the newer Daisy Doodles images Birthday Surprise which comes in 3 formats for only $1.25. Head over to the Daisy Doodles Store to check these out and all the other great digi’s that are available !

There are so many lovely elements to this design that I went to town on the decoupage, layering the banner, balloons and the gift box. I coloured the image in with Promarkers and Flexmarkers and kept the colour palette simple in blues and browns which is one of my fave colour combos.

The cardblank had been covered with paper  from HOTP. The diecut border is a self adhesive one from Papermania which was beige so I used a Distressed Ink pad on it to re-colour. I used my new favourite flourish die from Cheery Lynn and added some sequin flowers and gems.

I hope you will pop over to the blog to see the lovely creations on there from the rest of the DT and we look forward to seeing your entries in for our Anything Goes Challenge

I'll see you again next week with another lovely Daisy Doodles design.

For my card this week I have used this fun image Crusty Clown by Lil Diva to make a birthday card for my Brother in Law. He has a property and finance business and works very hard so I wanted to use this image with some buttons to denote him successfully juggling all his many projects.

I coloured the image with Promarkers &Flexmarkers picking out the colours from the papers I have used from Dovecraft. I have created 4 layers of decoupage and layered on 3d foam.
I used a sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge for the layout and used a fine line pen to add faux stitches to the layers. There is a mixture of buttons from different sources and a sentiment from Craftwork Cards to finish off.

*********************************************
For my card I have used 2 gorgeous images from the store. I have used the cake image from Simple Elegance. This is an amazing value set of 3 images in 3 formats for only $3. I have also used an image on the inside which is one of the newer images called Congratulations which is great for wedding or anniversary cards and only $2.

Head over to the Daisy Doodles Store to check these out and all the other great digi’s that are available !

I coloured the images with Promarkers & Flexmarkers adding some Stickles glitter glue and using a gold gel pen to highlight the gold rings. I used a clear glitter Sakura pen for the champagne bubbles.

I have used burgundy and pink as the predominant colours to tie in with the wedding theme my Sister will be having in December. Woohoo to me for being organised LOL. The paper is from a First Edition Sweet Owl pad by Dovecrafts and has a lovely subtle glitter on it. I have added some pearl strands, mulberry flowers and a banner from my stash. I had coloured he banner from the Simple Elegance pack but when I came to use it couldn’t find it anywhere……..I’m sure that happens to us all.

The inside has been decorated to match the front and I have added a felt and lace heart and an epoxy sticker, both of which I have had for years and years.

I was given this fab teddy bear image by StitchyStamps called Beary Good. Who could resist this lovey image holding his mahoosive cupcake?

I coloured him in with Promarkers and Flexmarkers keeping to various shades of browns and creams for the whole layout. I’ve added a textured look to the fur by stippling with a lighter shade of beige and it has broken the solid colour down. I find it better to use the lighter shade than the blender pen as it seems to keep the base colour better rather than bleach it.

The papers, scalloped trims and most of the flowers are from a new colour range by Papermania, it makes a change from being bright all the time to use more muted colours. I’ve added some gorgeous brown suede ribbon and some buttons as embellishments. The layout is based on as sketch at The Crafty Pad and the sentient is by Craftwork Cards.

As you can see from the preview there is a lovely array of images in this Mega Collaboration and it is fabulous value for money for only $12 What a fabulous opportunity for you to purchase all those lovely digis on your wishlist and get a fab pack of image into the bargain. Go on…… you know you want to J
