Daisy Doodles Challenge #54

At Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges we have a new challenge today

Colour Your World

We would like to see lots of colour with no black or brown

*********************************************

For my card I have used the image from the Ryan The Footballer pack. You get the fab image and four digi papers for only $3.  Head over to the Daisy Doodles Store to check out this and all the other great digi’s that are available !

I have coloured the image in with Promarkers and Flexmarkers mostly in shades of blue to match the papers which are from a Papermania pack. I have used scraps of blue card to mat the image and the birthday sentiment banner.

The ball, football shirt and cup are from a little pack of goodies I bought from Poundland. They are supposed to be little clips that you can decorate your flip flops with and there are about 10 embellishments in the pack. I love re-purposing things that are intended for a completely different use and these were ideal for this card.

*********************************************

I hope you will pop over to the blog to see the lovely creations on there from the rest of the DT and we look forward to seeing your entries in for our Colour Your World challenge.

I'll see you again next time with another lovely Daisy Doodles design.

Materials Used in this card are as follows:-

Tools - Scissors, 3d Foam pads, promarkers & Flexmarkers

I was given this fab image Beetle by Reece’s Scrap Pieces to work with and I decided to make it into a flower doodled car. I had already decided I wanted to use the main colours of green & purple and the card sort of grew from there really. Using the sketch from Mojo Monday I selected 2 papers that I wanted to put together. I really liked the different colours in the floral paper and added the swirled green to link in the car better.
The image was coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers. I drew the large flowers on first then coloured in around them. I used a fine nib to doodle the smaller flowers and add definition to the larger ones. I then added lots of gems and glitter domes to make it really sparkle.
I mounted the image on a scrap of dark purple card and added the ribbon. The flower is from a strip that I bought when I first started making cards in 2002 so it is proper vintage! The centre of the flower is pale blue so I have covered it with a purple glitter brad and this provided me with a great way of attaching it to the card, win win J

Rudolph Day

It’s Rudolph Day over at my friend Sarn’s blog Stamping for Pleasure

Basically in an attempt to make a decent dent on your Christmas cardmaking Sandra has for many years designated the 25th of the month as Rudolph day and to join in we simply need to make a Christmas card for it.

I would normally put all my Christmas stuff away in January for it not to come down from the top of my bookcases until September but I am trying to keep Christmas crafting through the year, it is far less stressful and ther isn’t the same pressure for time so it is worthwhile doing and a person can try can’t they?

Anyhoo, this image was already coloured in and was supposed to be for last Christmas but I didn’t quite get there….. The image is by Happileigh Scrappin’ and I have created decoupage layers for dimension and added glitter to the clothing. The papers are from various pads and are Papermania, DCWV and Dovecraft. I think the chipboard shapes on the tag are from a Let’s Make Cards pack, ribbon and brad are from stash.

If you fancy taking part in Rudolph day too Sarn has added a linky to her blog post here

Materials Used in this card are as follows:-

Card Size – 6” Square
Papers – Papermania, DCWV and Dovecraft
Sentiment – Let’s Make Cards
Embellishments – Chipboard shapes LMC, ribbon from stash, gem brad from American Crafts, Stickles glitter glue, peel off stickers snowflakes
Tools – Scissors, 3d foam
Techniques - Decoupage

Daisy's Image Inspirations

We have a new feature over at

Our challenges run fortnightly so on the off Wednesday the Designers will be creating with a specially selected digi from the Daisy Doodles Store.

The image we are working with today is Digger and it is available from the store at the very special price of only $1

This image screamed JCB to me so I have coloured it in bright yellows with my Promarkers. It is quite an intricate design but very easy to colour and perfect for boys of all ages J

I have used papers from magazine freebies and used a Martha Stewart lattice punch on the yellow paper, adding a Craftwork Cards sentiment raised on 3d foam.

I hope you will pop over to the blog to see the lovely creations on there and please remember that you have until Sunday night to get your entries in for our Sketch challenge.

I'll see you again next week with another lovely Daisy Doodles design.

Materials Used in this card are as follows:-

This week I am using a fab image from Floppy Latte Designs called Clown Doll. Now I have to admit that proper clowns really freak me out. I honestly don’t know where it comes from but I have always felt they were quite menacing and would rather not have anything to do with them thank you very much. However, this little cutie I really rather like J I love the cute expression on the face and the outfit inspired me to make a colourful card suitable for a child’s birthday card.

I have coloured the image with my beloved Promarkers & Flexmarkers and used bright fun colours to suit his patchwork costume. I cut the image out as I wanted to place him sitting on the edge of my nestabilities mat. I cut one in white and embossed it with a Papermania folder which has birthday words and images on it. I then cut a larger one in blue to provide a contrast to the bright papers which are from HOTP and a magazine freebie. The colours are such a good match it is amazing that they are not from the same range! I used a scrap of blue to cover the join and this has been punched with a Fiskars edge punch.

I used my Sizzlits die to cut a balloon and added some gold string. This is anchored under his hand and the whole clown is raised on 3d foam. The sentiment has been recycled from an old greetings card.

CDAC Progressive Challenge Round 12

It’s Round 12 of the Progressive Challenge at CDAC  and we have some lovely

Green, Great & Gorgeous

Images from some fabulous creators. Team A have the pleasure in bringing you some gorgeous samples for the images for the final round of this group.

My card is using a fab image called Hanging In There from Happileigh Scrappin’

****************************************

It was a total pleasure to work with this image. I was on the DT for Happileigh Scrappin’ Challenges and had the opportunity to work with many of Leigh’s fab images but hadn’t previously done so with this one.

I started with colouring the image in Promarkers & Flexmarkers and created decoupage layers fro the tummt and head and a separate layer for the head and the little birdie. I also added googly eyes and layered with 3d foam. I added some stickles to the birdie and used a Nestabilities die to cut the whole image out.

The paper used for the background is from a pad of papers that came free with a magazine and I added it to a scalloped edge card blank. The sentiment has been matted with a scrap of olive card and raised up with foam pads.

If you have taken part in the last challenge you will be receiving your images to work with for this part. If however you didn't enter all is not lost. For the paltry sum of only $1 you can buy back into the challenge and you will receive the images.

The deadline to enter your cards is 29th February. For all details on this challenge, the rules and how it works please pop over to this thread at the CDAC

Myself and Choccy have used this lovely image called Dolphin Kiss from Gingerloft. The image has been coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers and I really enjoyed shading the dolphins in the different shades of blue grey. I used a Nestabilities die to cut the image and distressed the edges with a small black inkpad.

The base card is a sheet of white card with a pale blue wavy paper from by Dovecrafts. I used a 4” wide brown lace with a strip of blue card which had been trimmed with a Martha Stewart bubble punch and overlaid this with a metallic ribbon.

The heart die cuts are from Let’s Make Cards packs and the sentiment is from Kanban mounted onto a scrap of blue card.
