Daisy Doodles #56 Spring

At Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges we have a new challenge today

Spring

*********************************************

For my card the image I have used is these beautiful daffodils Spring Has Sprung. For only $2 you get this fabulous image and a Spring sentiment in 3 formats, blooming bargain!  Head over to the Daisy Doodles Store to check these out and all the other great digi’s that are available !

I really loved working with this little bunch of daffodils and nothing quite says Spring more than these gorgeous flashes of colour in your garden. I coloured the image in with Promarkers and Flexmarkers adding subtle shading in the oranges and yellows. The spotty paper on the background has been inked around the edges to soften it and the orange paper has been punched with my Martha Stewart trellis punch. I love how easily this punches and it is great for adding another paper yet sill allowing the background to poke through. The sentiment id a die cut from Hunkydory raised on 3d foam.

I hope you will pop over to the blog to see the lovely creations on there from the rest of the DT and we look forward to seeing your entries in for our Spring challenge.

I'll see you again next week with another lovely Daisy Doodles design.

For this challenge I chose this lovely image Sally by Lil Diva Stamps for myself and Choccy to use. I love the clean lines and knew it would be perfect to decoupage some of the image and have used bright colours and papers.

I have coloured my image with Promarkers and Flexmarkers and created a second layer of the plantpot and the large flower. I have stickles glitter glue to the pretty heart, plantpot and flower centres. The image has been cut out with a Nestabilities die and I used the outside of the die to cut a red mat to mount it on.

Both the patterned papers are from a Spring themed Dovecraft paper pad and all plain cardstock except the base is from my scraps box. I have it at the side of me when I am crafting and I find I use it much more than I did before as I can see them all the time, it is my ‘go to’ box now and I always try to use some scraps if at all possible J

To finish the card off I have used a sentiment recycled from an old greetings card, some Prima flowers, buttons and gems recycled from an old t-shirt.

Daisy's Image Inspirations Li'l Duck

Over at

our challenges run fortnightly so on the off Wednesday the Designers will be creating with a specially selected digi from the Daisy Doodles Store.

The image we are working with today is Lil Duck and it is available from the store at the very special price.

I coloured the image with Promarkers & Flexmarkers and used my tiny scissors to cut it out and used tiny foam pads to raise it up. I used the pastel striped paper from Dovecraft on the base of the card and distressed the edges with a small inkpad.

Using a Nestabilities label die I cut a mat out from a magazine freebie paper pad adding some faux stitches to the outside with a white gel pen. I added a smattering of stickles glitter glue to the daisies and the Easter eggs and ooh look, there is a big gem easter egg Lil Duck is about to pick up and put in his cart J
I hope you will pop over to the blog to see the lovely creations on there and please remember that you have until Sunday night to get your entries in for our Tie It Up challenge.

Happy Mother's Day

I was very lucky to win a $10 gift voucher to spend at Di’s Digi Downloads and this card has been made using one of Di’s gorgeous images For a Special Someone. This is the card that I made for my Mother In Law’s Mother’s Day card.

I have coloured the image using Promarkers and Flexmarkers and then mounted it onto a scrap of magenta mirri card. The card blank is made using an A4 sheet of pearlescent cardstock and the swirly paper on the top is a magazine freebie from Polka Doodles.

The sentiment has been recycled from a bag of old greetings cards I was given by a family friend. I cut it into a banner shape and mounted onto some more of the mirri card.

The felt shapes are from Poundland and I added lots of stickles to the roses on the digi and on the swirls in the paper.

I hope all the mummies out there in the UK have had a fabulous Mother’s Day and have had lots of nice treats.

Materials Used in this card are as follows:-
Card Size – A5
Paper – Polkadoodles freebie paper
Sentiment – Recycled from an old card
Embellishments – Felt & crystal flowers & butterfly, button, stickles glitter glue
Tools – Promarkers & Flexmarkers,

Fuchsia Panel Cross Stitch

And now for something completely different..........

For Mother's Day I wanted to give my Mother In Law a cross stitch that I have been working on for many years.  It is the Fuschia Panel from Heritage Stitchcraft which measures 11cm x 31cm and is stitched on evenweave fabric and is the first large piece of stitching on line that I have done.

I used to do a lot of cross stitch but cardmaking completely took over in 2002. I do like to take a project on holidays with me though as there is something very relaxing about stitching and this piece is very well travelled. It has been to Gran Canaria, Majorca, Dominican Republic and even been on a cruise. I have finally got it framed up and gave it to her today and she loved it. I taught her some years ago how to do cross stitch so she knows how much work has gone into it and fuschia’s are her favourite flower.

I am just glad to have finally completed it and get it framed and I am so pleased she liked it.

I would like to enter this project into the following challenges (in Alphabetical Order):-

For my girly card I chose to work with this fab design, Chloes Ballet Lesson by Lil Diva Stamps. The fabulous trim was in a blog candy prize and was the starting point for this very pink and girly card.

I coloured the gorgeous image win with Promarkers & Flexmarkers adding lots of stickles glue as an accent on the darker pink. The floral backing paper is from the new Boofle pack from Papermania and I have added some gold stickles to the centres. I used the latest sketch from Paper & Such Design for the layout and added a circle sentiment from Craftwork Cards to finish it off.

CDACPC Round 14 – Mr Bunny

It’s Round 14 of the Progressive Challenge at CDAC  and we have some lovely

Baskets or Bunnies

Images from some fabulous creators. Team A have the pleasure in bringing you some gorgeous samples for the images for this round.

My card is using a fab image called Mr Bunny from Spectacular Printable which has just won 1st place in the February Digital Drawing competition over at CDAC

****************************************
I used the current sketch from Forever Friends for the layout of this card. All papers and cardstock stickers are from the Spring Drop pad by Dovecraft. The glittery egg lines are from a patterned paper where I cut out 2 lines and then placed the flower ribbon in between.

I coloured the image with Promarkers & Flexmarkers keeping to mainly greens & browns which I felt would bring a gentrified English country gent feel to this character. I cut the image out with my tiny Fiskars scissors and raised it up with lots of 3d foam pads. To finish off I used some cardstock stickers from the paper pack and a sentiment from a Let’s Make Cards pack.

****************************************
If you have taken part in the last challenge you will be receiving your images to work with for this part. If however you didn't enter all is not lost. For the paltry sum of only $1 you can buy back into the challenge and you will receive the images.

The deadline to enter your cards is 31st March. For all details on this challenge, the rules and how it works please pop over to this thread at the CDAC
