For this challenge I chose Fluff from Barbara Jensen Designs. Although it isn’t a Chrismas image I thought if I used traditional colours it would work and that’s my Cristmas card for my hubby done early too J

I coloured the image with Promarkers and Flexmarkers keeping to just red and green colours. The image was cut out using a Nestabilities die and I used a small inkpad to distress the edges of the shape.

I had some Hobbycraft vouchers for my birthday and bought the current copy f Creative Cardmaking magazine which had some smashing papers and card by Kanban with it. I used the traditional green holly to cover the base of my card and the gold and red card has had some Stickles glitter glue added as ‘berries’. The swirly die cuts are a new acquisition from Sizzlits. There are 2 swirl dies and shadows and stamps to go with it. The poinsettia flowers are flocked velvet and add some gorgeous texture to it.

The stripy sentiment panel is by Craftwork Cards which I layered onto a scrap of white card. The sentiment was ‘Made By Mandy’, cut using a Nestabilities die and I added a couple of green gems to finish off.

I had added the sentiments below, in both JPG & PNG format. You are more than welcome to download them. Please do not add them to you blog or claim them as you own and if you do use them I would love to see your projects J

Daisy Doodles #70 Halloween

Over at Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges we have a new challenge today

Halloween

*********************************************

For my project I have used both images that come in the Li’l Witch set. You get both the witch and her cauldron in 3 formats for only $3.

Head over to the Daisy Doodles Store to check these out and all the other great digi’s that are available !

*********************************************

I decided I wanted to do something fun and a little different for me so I played about with the images to make labels for a bottle of Witches’ Brew. I’m thinking mulled wine you have made yourself as perhaps a gift for the host’s at a house party, adding a fun twist to the Halloween theme, afterall it doesn’t have to be for children does it?

I have used a freebie frame and manipulated the shape so it fit the images and the size of the wine bottle. I coloured my images in with Promarkers and Flexmarkers keeping to a simple colour palette. The front label uses the cauldron and I added some text for Witches Brew. The poor little froggy is sweating, not sure if it is because of the warmth of the fire, but I think it is more likely he has been thrown into the pot. The back label has the Li’l Witch and an allergy notice just in case !

To finish off I added a collar to the neck of the bottle with scraps of My Minds Eye Penny Lane paper and a border of black card which has been punched with a Fiskars border. I of course had to pop some hooj spiders on the top to frighten off all but the most hardy of souls, it is Halloween afterall LOL

I had so much fun making this. I’ve never been one for Halloween but it is one of the best times for a designer to just run with a theme and have a ball. The best bit is I get to polish off the bottle…. Win Win J

I hope you will pop over to the blog to see the lovely creations on there from the rest of the DT and we look forward to seeing your entries in for our Halloween

I'll see you again next time with another lovely Daisy Doodles design.

Materials Used in this card are as follows:-

Embellishments – Hooj spiders from Poundland
Tools - Letraset Promarkers & Flexmarkers, Fiskars border punch

It was my turn to choose an image for myself and Choccy to use and once I saw this gorgeous image of Seahorses by Delicious Doodles I knew immediately it would be a perfect image for my wedding anniversary card for my hubby. Just look at how their little tails are linked together ...

I have always loved seahorses, they are such beautiful creatures and you see them in lots of different colours. I love the role reversal of the males giving birth to the babies and it is amazing to see them have hundreds and hundreds of them, like a little cloud of tiny seahorses. Check out this video on Youtube.  The other really amazing this is that they choose a mate and stay with them for life. Can you see how perfect that makes them for an anniversary card?

This is a large 8” square card and I coloured the image using Promarkers & Flexmarkers choosing colours from the papers which are from the Animal Antics First Edition 8x8 pad. I used lots of Stickles glitter glue on the water bubbles, cut the image with a scalloped edge and distressed the edges with an ink pad.

The papers were layered together and I used Martha Stewart punches for the heart border and lattice heart. The sentiment is by Studio 313 and was cut using a Nestabilities die. The flower are all Prima’s held together with an American Crafts gem brad.

For this challenge I chose Hot Chocolate from Beary Dust Stamps. I could see the potential for layering the image and also that’s another Christmas card made J

I coloured the image with Promarkers and Flexmarkers keeping to a simple colour palette of blues and browns. I added 2 decoupage layers for the bear and then the bear’s head and hat. I added some lines with a fine nib to the biscuits, lots of glitter glue to the trim and pom-pom, some black gems to the eyes and puffy applique glue to cream running around the side of the cup. The image was cut out using a Nestabilities die.

The card front is covered with a snowflake paper from Crafter’s Companion, I used a corner rounder to trim the edges and a small ink pad to distress the edges of the card and image layer. The sentiment is a freebie from Bizzy Becs that you can download from here

Well as I woke up to our 1st thick frost of the season this morning and both myself and hubby are full of cold wrapping up warm with a nice mug of Hot Chocolate seems like a good idea to me J

Happy Birthday Roxy

I made this card for a very special little girl. She is the Granddaughter of one of our best friends. I have seen her grow up from being about 9 months old and she is such a pretty girl with the most amazing character. She loves to learn, is extremely bright and really reminds me of myself at her age. She comes out with the funniest things and is such fun to be around J

I was very lucky to have won a challenge at Emerald Faeries and chose this image as my prize as Roxy loves ladybirds and I knew it would be the perfect image for her birthday card.

I coloured the image using Promarkers & Flexmarkers, she loves the colour purple so the flower had to be that colour. I have added loads of stickles glitler glue to the wings so they were really sparkly. I used a Nestabilities die to cut out the image and inked the edges with a small pad.

The spotty paper is from the Family Ties First Edition pad by Dovecraft, again the edges have been distressed to knock it back a little. The black card is from my scraps box and I used a Martha Stewart heart border punch on it. The pretty sparkle swirl is by Prima and was on a big sheet. I just snipped it out from a couple of shapes until I was happy with the fit.

To personalise it I have used a chipboard number and some letter stickers from my stash and coloured them with a black marker. The sentiment is from my stash mounted onto a scrap of black card.

Materials Used in this card are as follows:-

Card Size – A5
Sentiment – from stash
Paper – Familiy Ties First Edition pad by Dovecraft
Embellishments – Gem swirl by Prima, Chipboard number, letter stickers, Stickles glitter glue
Tools – Letraset Promarkers & Flexmarkers, Martha Stewart border punch,  Nestabilities Die, small ink pad
Techniques – Distressing, punching, die cutting
