Tie It Up

We would like to see you use ribbon or cords

*********************************************

The image is only $2 and the papers is in a pack of 7 12” square that is only $3.  Head over to the Daisy Doodles Store to check these out and all the other great digi’s that are available !

I have coloured the image in with Promarkers and Flexmarkers and used a Nestabilites die to cut the image out and a mat. Using the sketch at Digital Tuesday I have added some red card in a diamond shape and overlaid 2 ribbons, one being my spotty lace edged ribbon and the black one has been recycled from a Hotel Chocolat gift from last Christmas. The image has been mounted on 3d foam.

From this challenge we are changing the prize structure. You must use a store image to win the main prizes and all other entries will be in a draw to win $3 to spend in the store

For this challenge Choccy chose this lovely image Spring Is In The Air by Stitchy Stamps.
I have coloured my image with Promarkers and Flexmarkers and was inspired by a post my blog buddy Janey had posted about spring bursting into colour in the gardens. I wanted to make it quite bright and have given her a nice tan as she is working outdoors and gets a lot of sun (living in the UK one can only hope….)

I cut a strip away from the edge of my card front and used punch I have had since November for the 1st time to create a pretty border. The patchwork paper is from a new Papermania Boofle pack. The green paper inside the card if a magazine freebie from Creative Cardmaking and I have added some gold Papermania flower stickers to the edge. The flowers are an assortment from my stash and the sentiment is from Paper Garden Projects.

Daisy’s Image Inspirations

Over at

our challenges run fortnightly so on the off Wednesday the Designers will be creating with a specially selected digi from the Daisy Doodles Store.

The image we are working with today is Easter Egg and it is available from the store at the very special price of only $0.50

I have made an egg shaped card which has been paper pieced. I started with a lovely floral paper in soft pastel shades, enlarged the image and printed it out 8” high straight onto the patterned paper. The quality of the store images are really crisp and the lines are really smooth even when you increase the image to the larger sizes. I coloured the flowers in with a Promarker and it covered the floral paper perfectly.

I printed 3 layers of the ribbons onto plain white card and coloured them in with colours picked from the main paper. These have been layered with 3D foam. I added the egg to plain cardstock and cut around the shape with my trusty Fiskars scissors. They are small blades and cut right to the end of the tip and I would be lost without them J

The sentiment is a freebie from TLC Creations and I made a little tag and used one of my Queen & Co mini brads. Last but not least I used tons and tonnes of Stickles glitter glue and some Paperchase gems to bling it up. I loved working with this image and it has made a lovely fun card which I may have great difficulty giving away…….

I hope you will pop over to the blog to see the lovely creations on there and please remember that you have until Sunday night to get your entries in for our Colour Your World challenge.

I'll see you again next week with another lovely Daisy Doodles design.

This week I am using a fabulous image from Ike’s Art called Angel.  I very rarely use images like this but felt very drawn to the serenity of this figure. I kept the colour palette very simple in shades of gold as I knew I wanted to use the ribbon which came from a box of Thornton chocolates that I had as a gift a few years ago.

The image is coloured with Promarkers and I added some stickles glitter glue to the wings and then used a Nestabilities label die to cut it out.

The base card has been covered with the remainder of a sheet of Kanban embossed metallic paper. It has a gorgeous irridescent sheen and the positioning of the scrolls framed the image very well. The sentiment is a fab freebie, details as below and had been cut out using a Quickutz cookie cutter die.

Daisy Doodles Challenge #54

At Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges we have a new challenge today

Colour Your World

We would like to see lots of colour with no black or brown

*********************************************

For my card I have used the image from the Ryan The Footballer pack. You get the fab image and four digi papers for only $3.  Head over to the Daisy Doodles Store to check out this and all the other great digi’s that are available !

I have coloured the image in with Promarkers and Flexmarkers mostly in shades of blue to match the papers which are from a Papermania pack. I have used scraps of blue card to mat the image and the birthday sentiment banner.

The ball, football shirt and cup are from a little pack of goodies I bought from Poundland. They are supposed to be little clips that you can decorate your flip flops with and there are about 10 embellishments in the pack. I love re-purposing things that are intended for a completely different use and these were ideal for this card.

I was given this fab image Beetle by Reece’s Scrap Pieces to work with and I decided to make it into a flower doodled car. I had already decided I wanted to use the main colours of green & purple and the card sort of grew from there really. Using the sketch from Mojo Monday I selected 2 papers that I wanted to put together. I really liked the different colours in the floral paper and added the swirled green to link in the car better.
The image was coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers. I drew the large flowers on first then coloured in around them. I used a fine nib to doodle the smaller flowers and add definition to the larger ones. I then added lots of gems and glitter domes to make it really sparkle.
I mounted the image on a scrap of dark purple card and added the ribbon. The flower is from a strip that I bought when I first started making cards in 2002 so it is proper vintage! The centre of the flower is pale blue so I have covered it with a purple glitter brad and this provided me with a great way of attaching it to the card, win win J
