Lady Annes Carolling Trio

Lady Anne is running a Christmas Progressive Freebie Challenge. For this second round we have 2 images from Stamp N Doodle and I chose to use the Carolling Trio image.

I used a sketch from Techonostampers for the layout and rotated it to suit the image shape. The image has been coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers and I used an X-Cut die for the shape and then inked the edges.

The red card blank has been covered with a paper which has a music score on it from the Papermania Christmas Tidings pack. I added some gold papermania ribbon and a bow from my stash. The pointsettia die cuts are also Docrafts and the sentiment is rub on from Dovecraft.

Thankyou Lady Anne for running this great Christmas themed challenge. It is lovely to take part in such a challenge that encourages us to keep making Christmas cards throughout the year. I am very much looking forward to using the next images and I happy to see my pile of Christmas cards increasing J

Daisy Doodles #80 Easter

Welcome to a new challenge over at Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges

Easter

For my card this time I have used a fab image from the store called All Your Eggs………

It comes in JPG, PNG & TIFF formats for $2 but is even more of a bargain at the moment as there is a 50% discount in the store until the end of March to help pay for the vet’s bills for Daisy’s kitty Billy.

Head over to the Daisy Doodles Store to check it out and all the other great digi’s that are available !

I started by printing off a second layer for the bow and cute little chick and then coloured the image in with pastel shades as they suit Easter images so well.

I covered the card blank with the spotty green paper and added a gingham panel. To this I have used my favourite glittery easter egg paper and then added my image, layering ghe decoupage sections with 3d foam.

The sentiment is a die cut which was too wide for my card so I did a bit of creative trimming and used tiny brads in the centre of the flowers to articulate the sections. This is then mounted with 3d foam and et voila the finished article.

I hope you will pop over to the blog to see the lovely creations on there from my team mates and we look forward to seeing your entries in for our Challenge.

I'll see you again next time with another lovely Daisy Doodles design.

Spring Baskets

The digi pack this month from the Progressive Freebie Challenge at Delightful Inspiration {From The Heart} is an amazing array of baskets and I chose the Spring Basket as I loved the floral display with the pretty flutterbies.

I also tied it up with sketch 009, you have to love a 2 for 1 don’t you :)

I coloured my image using Promarkers and Flexmarkers and cut it out so I could layer it onto the panel of 4 squares from the sketch. I have used papers from the Spring Drop First Edition pad. The mani background paper has lots of glitter on the pretty flowers. I used the green stripe paper to cut the 4 squares and laid them offset from one another and added faux stitches. The bright pink card and green one that had been punched are from my scraps box.

That’s another card made for the progressive freebie and I am looking forward to seeing what we can play with for the next month. Thankyou  Faith for running these challenges again, they are so much fun J

I have only ever made one all white card before and really was not happy with my results so I challenged myself to make an all white card AND not use any pretty papers!!

I chose this cute image Licky Tiggy Tiger by Barbara Jensen.  I know white tigers are rare but they do exist and I knew that I could add the black colour to the stripes and the palest pink to the fleshy parts like nose, pads on the paws and ears. I added some glossy accents to the nose and paws and cut the image out suing a Nestabilities die.

The main backing paper is a Boofles embossing folder on it’s first outing since I bought it months and months ago. It is like a patchwork effect so has quite a few different textures on it. I also used a second layer with a cuttlebug folder which has a bark effect, I thought it would emulate the stripes on the tiger. I used scissors to distress and roughen up the edges and attached a lacy edged ribbon to it following a sketch from A Die For A Sketch.

Finally I used a sentiment which was a freebie from TLC Creations and die cut it with a Nestabilities die. Both the image and sentiment have been mounted on 3D foam and this whole card is full of texture.

Party Cat

Birdie Brown is celebrating her 2nd birthday and has two challenges this month to celebrate. I love Torico’s images and was lucky recently to have won some money to spend in Etsy stores and bought several of the new images. The one I used on this card is Party Cat, I know a couple of people who adore kitties and would love this as a birthday card.

I chose a sketch from The House That Stamps Built and rotated it to fit the image which has been coloured in with Promarkers and Flexmarkers in bright primary colours.

The yellow card blank has been trimmed along the edge with a Fiskars punch leaving the white inside showing as a contrast. The paper is from the Happy Birthday pack by Dovecraft. I used some curling ribbon to cover the join on the paper edge and some funky fibres to which I have attached 2 balloon shaped brads. The sentiment was a freebie and is perfect to go with the image.

Happy 2nd Birthday Birdie Brown, I hope you will be celebrating many more J
