This week I am using a fab image from Floppy Latte Designs called Clown Doll. Now I have to admit that proper clowns really freak me out. I honestly don’t know where it comes from but I have always felt they were quite menacing and would rather not have anything to do with them thank you very much. However, this little cutie I really rather like J I love the cute expression on the face and the outfit inspired me to make a colourful card suitable for a child’s birthday card.

I have coloured the image with my beloved Promarkers & Flexmarkers and used bright fun colours to suit his patchwork costume. I cut the image out as I wanted to place him sitting on the edge of my nestabilities mat. I cut one in white and embossed it with a Papermania folder which has birthday words and images on it. I then cut a larger one in blue to provide a contrast to the bright papers which are from HOTP and a magazine freebie. The colours are such a good match it is amazing that they are not from the same range! I used a scrap of blue to cover the join and this has been punched with a Fiskars edge punch.

I used my Sizzlits die to cut a balloon and added some gold string. This is anchored under his hand and the whole clown is raised on 3d foam. The sentiment has been recycled from an old greetings card.

Yay! Here he is...I saw this some where, (probably in one of your trillion challenges) and thought, bother..it looks soooo much nicer in bright colours but I had to use pastels coz the challenge was babies....Anyway...It's a fabby card, love the bright colours and the balloon, love love the orange hair and when you said you had done a bright one I then just had to come and hunt it out, and after all that it was the card I'd spied last month...I'm sure I came and said at the time..but I'm such a sieve head sometimes, maybe I just dreamt it!!
